Benihana NYC is always a fun experience. The chef was engaging and entertaining, which made the night feel special, and the service was attentive throughout. The food was delicious and cooked perfectly, especially the steak, fried rice, and vegetables. The lively atmosphere makes it a great spot for date night, celebrations, or a night out with friends. Definitely a place I'd return to.

The new wagyu menu is top tier. The wagyu is high quality and my new favorite protein option from the menu. It's also a really good deal for everything you get including wagyu fried rice. Max and Judy were our servers and they were incredible!! So friendly and checked in on us often. I will be returning ASAP.

This spot was very disappointing despite its generally great reputation. We chose Benihana while visiting NYC for our kids' birthday dinner. We waited an hour even though we had a reservation. There was no communication of timing. The food was bland and service was confusing/misleading in terms of cost.

Francisco was very attentive and kind. Made for a wonderful experience. The tasting menu had been reduced from what was advertised. So, that was a disappointment. Soup came out cold and chicken was dry. Also disappointing given the reputation.

I visited Benihana to try the Wagyu of the World special they're doing and it was excellent! The Wagyu was so juicy and tender, plus the hot honey butter they poured over top took it right to the next level!! My favorite though, was the wagyu fried rice - I'll be dreaming of that for days!! The meal finished with green tea ice cream that was the perfect way to round it all out. Great experience!!

The chef was incredibly friendly and engaging, turning dinner into a full-on show that kept everyone entertained the entire time. The food was absolutely delicious—especially the Wagyu fried rice, which was phenomenal and easily the standout of the night. Every cut of meat was high-quality, flavorful, juicy, and cooked to perfection. The meal flows perfectly, starting with soup and salad, followed by the main hibachi course, and ending with ice cream to top it all off. They have a Wagyu of the world special for only $79 a person where you get to experience the best cuts of Wagyu from all around the world. Absolutely suggest you try it. You won't be disappointed From the atmosphere to the service to the food, this was hands-down one of the best dining experiences we've ever had. Highly recommend this place if you're looking to have a great time or to celebrate.

Benihana is a great combination of great food and ambience experience, it's fun and it really represents the NYC mood, great choice before going to a Broadway show in our case
I have been a lot of times in the past to this restaurant. I have very good memories. We all know things change in life, food is still good. According to my opinion the place would need a renewal in decorations and furnishings.

Came here for my husband's birthday dinner. We had a reservation at 7:30pm for 10 people and were not seated until 8:30pm (our whole party was there on time). The restaurant did not even apologize--let alone offer us a free drink or dessert, which I think would be warranted after an hour-long wait with a reservation. While I was standing at the host's desk trying to get us seated, I actually saw people paying off the manager at the front... maybe that's why we had to wait so long?
