Tried to get a table here last night. The hostess seemed like she was drunk or on drugs or both. The way she spoke to an older man in line ahead of us was absolutely despicable. She talked down to him in a cruel tone, as if he was a child she wanted to make cry (I think there was some sort of language barrier). She reminded me of an aggressive cop, not a hostess welcoming a guest to a restaurant.
We had to wait in line for 10-15 min (with only a couple people ahead of us) only to rudely be told by this clearly impaired hostess that there wasn’t room (there were a few empty tables, one reserved). That’s fine, but why be mean to people who just want to give you their money in exchange for food and sake? I know firsthand how difficult it is to work in a restaurant. Why make it worse with a sour attitude?
I plan to come back and try the food, but only when this hostess isn’t there. I hope the experience impresses me, and I can update my review with more stars. I hate it when customer service goes out the window when a restaurant has a consistent flow of clients. Don’t take customers for granted; our business isn’t guaranteed!

Wow, what an amazing place. The atmosphere was so cozy and intimate. The food was delicious, my friend and I ordered the fried gyoza, Ramen and the Suntori beer. Everything was fantastic and I'm excited to come back for round 2.

Super unprofessional and rude. Sat down and asked the hostess the differences between the Salmon they serve and regular grilled Salmon. She replied “price and texture”. I then laughed and said could you be more elaborate please? Especially if I’m paying for it. She then looked at me like I had 10 heads with a confused, “I got nothing” look on her face. I walked out.
Ditch the cabbage patch kids size chairs and tables before you assume a person can’t eat at your restaurant lol. I felt like I was sitting in on a kindergarten class.

Staff is good and kind but restaurant is understaffed and kitchen is incredibly slow. Don’t go there unless you want to wait for your food for over 45min. Gave them multiple try and it happened repeatedly. I’m done with this place.

Best Pilsner happy hour in the neighborhood. 3 dollar beer all night.
I've been coming here when it used to be Sapporo East under different management and have fond memories. Unsure if they switched management again but they removed the delicious fried spicy asparagus and kaiyaki off the menu. My recent spicy tuna roll also tasted very off...not that it was spoiled, but it just didn't taste like what a spicy tuna roll should taste like. The salmon avocado roll was fine so no complaints there.
