Last night was one of the best dinners my wife and I have had for some time. Why? The seasonal special soft shell crabs were divine; my scallops were terrific, as always; the CA Sauvignon Blanc was delightful; and the desert apple tatin was a great way to conclude our evening.
We have dined here many times and the food has always been delicious. Last night however my wife ordered the duck confit and it was very disappointing. Even the potatoes were greasy and not good.
From the very first "bonsolr" you know you are really welcomed and valued as a diner at Bistro Vendome! we had the good fortune that night of eating on the outdoor terrace, which is a very lovely setting on a nice summer evening;. The wine list is excellent with many good choices... Albarino and the sincerre, particularly appealing and highly rated. The menu offered lots of options, with mussels always excellent and really "French Fires" the way they should...
