One of the worst Chinese food in NY! Terrible dumplings and noodle soup with beef. I can’t believe people wrote ‘the best dumplings they ever had’ ! They weren’t fresh to begin with and too oily with few ingredients

The food is beyond worst Chinese food ever, even NYC standards. They use tons of MSG to mask the terrible flavor and taste. All the salt and spice just to show that they have zero understanding of food, not even Chinese. I don’t understand why they are still in business. And, NO service at all.

I had the pleasure of dining in at Bites of Xi’an 56 and tried five dishes: Cold Skin Noodles, Crispy Burger with Cumin Lamb, Mixed Spicy Veggies, Pork and Chive Dumplings, and Garlic Cucumber. My favorites were the Cold Skin Noodles, Mixed Spicy Veggies, and the Crispy Burger — all packed with flavor.

The food is delicious and perfect for summer. I highly recommend the appetizers, especially the Cold Skin Noodles, Spicy Veggies, and Garlic Cucumber. These dishes are served chilled, straight from the fridge, making them refreshing and ideal for hot weather.

The service was also friendly and flexible. I wasn’t sure about the portion sizes and was worried I might not order enough food. The cashier agreed to my solution: I used my physical credit card as collateral and started by ordering three dishes. If it wasn’t enough, I could return to order more and pay everything together at the end.

Later, I decided to add the Pork and Chive Dumplings and Garlic Cucumber, and the cashier kindly let me pay for everything at once using Apple Pay.

great dumplings but the menu posted is inaccurate, no rice dishes for some reason

Do yourself a favor and don’t eat here. Travel to one of the many Xi’an Famous Food all over the city—which this place is a poor copy of. All the same dishes but worse. The dumplings were fine. You don’t need to read any further but if you want I’ll complain more…

I got the Cumin Lamb with hand pulled noodles—a dish I’ve been eating for almost 20 years. Everything was wrong. 0% spicy. It even has a spice warning on the menu. The noodles were like if I tried to make noodles at home—sad. Thick, in a bad way, and lumpy. The lamb was tender but like… idk where they got this lamb. You can get good lamb on half the street corners in the city and this was bad. Like it came frozen and pre sliced. Also, the quantity of broth! It didn’t even cover the noodles which were just a solid mass.

Anyways, if you’re visiting, just stay away. If you’re a local on lunch… I guess the dumplings were acceptable.

Lunch at Bites of Xi'an 🍜🥩 西安美食

I ordered a Roujiamo, also known as a Chinese burger, originating from Xi'an cuisine. It has stewed lamb with bean sprouts seasoned with cumin stuffed inside a crispy flatbread. I paired it with this very spicy noodle dish called You Po Che Mian. It's made of thick yam noodles swimming in a flavorful broth well seasoned with chili oil, sichuan peppercorns, cilantro, scallions, and other 'you po' spices. It also contains leafy greens called bok choy and ground lamb.

This Xi'an cuisine for lunch was a solid choice, cause baby they don't play when it comes to spices and let me tell ya the flavors sure did hit
the right spot for me cause ya girl loves the
heat 🌶️🥵❤️

Good cheap eats. I ordered the appetizer of spicy crispy chicken & pan fried pork dumplings. The chicken was very crispy but wasnt spicy at all. Overall the flavor was good. The dumplings had a nice sear and gave a good crunch when biting it. FYI drinks are not cold. The restaurant was a bit warm.

Completely underwhelmed by lack of tap water for my thirsty child. Asking for an extra bowl to share a noodle soup will cost extra $50. We ordered N1 & D5 and was shocked by the food coloring green of the veggie pan friend dumpling. Eat in food is served by take out plastic. Tables are sticky and dirty. The hand-pull noodles were impossible to separate.

Thanks but no thanks.

Maybe other dishes are better, but I can’t recommend N4 with hand pulled noodles or the dumplings.

Always come here for takeout. Food is great as well as a takeout package with reasonable price.

- Crispy burger with pork is amazing. I had it after 10 minutes and it was still hot. Nice to have it when it’s still hot and crispy.

- Dian dian noodles are yummy. Soup was packed separately from noodles. Portion of stewed beef and veggies are reasonable. Quite disappointed with hand-ripped noodles as they got solid in chuck when not hot anymore even though I put soup into them. Next time I’ll get other noodles.

Taking parents here for travel. All the stores when you ask for hot water would kindly provide. The lady at the reception was rude and say no, we are not able to provide. Shame on you.
