BLT steak was one of my favorite places to have a good steak before the original one on 57th closed down. Wasn't sure what to make of Prime: It was solid but not spectacular.
The popovers are always delicious.
I was a little disappointed with the amuse bouche though, as it is the same one that they've served since BlT Steak opened all those years ago.
We got the wagyu picanha and the cowboy ribeye. The picanha was tender and the chimichurri added a brightness that balanced the fattiness of the wagyu. I was disappointed in the ribeye...it was supposed to be aged but didn't taste like it. And it wasn't nearly as tender as I thought it would be even though I got it rare (how I usually like my steaks).

We ordered the Prime Queen Spanish Chuleton, special menu for today, to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The meat was soft and I loved the charcoal butter - a bit different but it mixed well with everything! The Chef came to present and explained the cut at our table. The appetizers, Tuna Tartare and Burrata salad, were also delicious. The staff always provided top service. Highly recommended!

I guess don’t even think about this place if you have children. I’m aware NYC isn’t the most child-welcoming, but these people should be ashamed of themselves. I walked in yesterday (Columbus Day) at 5:45pm with my young son. Not a soul in the place. I walk up to the hostess where there is a younger host and an older host in her early 40s. The younger one greets me and asks how many. I told her jokingly “1 & a half”. The older host completely disregards me and asks the host who greets me “if I have a reservation” as if I wasn’t standing right in front of her. I then respond to her directly, “no, I don’t”. She literally snarls and says “then we can’t seat you”. Again this place is EMPTY. Not a single person inside. I checked before walking inside to literally be cognizant of NYCs hatred for children. She watched me exit the restaurant with my stroller with just a death stare. I rarely write reviews, even bad ones, but as an owner of a hospitality service, I was truly appalled. To treat a woman with a baby this way was a weird kind a cruel.

We love going to BLT when we're in NYC, but recently we needed a very special take-out / catering order for a 50th birthday party. Tyler and the BLT Prime team were amazing - worked with us on the perfect items, and helped make the birthday party SO special. The popovers are forever legendary!!!

BLT Prime is now one of my favorite steak places. great food from apps to dessert. Good service and reasonable corkage fee for a steak house in Manhattan at $45/bottle (2 bottle limit) Thanks for making my Bday celebration memorable!
BLT Prime is a solid neighborhood steakhouse. The staff is friendly. The food is good, though not at the top rank of NYC steakhouse chains. The popovers are very good and welcome. The room is handsome, and not at all generic, unlike most steakhouses. The pricing is reasonable. And you can bring wine and pay a reasonable corkage fee -- which gives BLT a huge edge over most alternatives. On this particular visit, there were some glitches -- the cocktail orders were screwed up; the steak was cooked beyond the ordered medium rare; the check was erroneous (in the restaurant's favor, by about $100) and had to be corrected. I do wonder whether the steak they are serving these days is of quite the same caliber as their steaks of yesteryear. All in all, though, this is a good and scarce resource on the Upper East Side.

They charged for each soda and did not tell us. Food was undercooked and staff chats too much amongst themselves instead of focusing on tables. I had gone to same place in Aruba and it was absolutely fantastic. This location was a disappointment.
All the staff are very polite, very good and the food is very good. They managed to rank first among my steak house experiences.

I rarely post reviews, but my friend and I had an amazing birthday dinner here. Not only were the steaks perfectly prepared, with excellent sides (roasted carrots with a saffron puree and fancy mushrooms.
The wine suggested by their sommelier recommended a lovely Merlot, and the suggestion to go with the profiteroles for dessert was spot on.
Exceptional food meets exceptional service at this restaurant.
