This is a very authentic Mexican restaurant. The enchiladas, and carnitas quesadilla were the best I ever had. The burrito was huge. Very nice friendly staff. Unfortunately we ate and forgot to take pics. I highly recommend giving them a try. Well Done Maiz Well Done.

Authentic Mexican flavors in the heart of New York! Everything is fresh and homemade — you can truly taste the quality. The tacos and salsas are incredible, and the staff is warm and welcoming. A cozy spot with amazing food — Maiz is a must-visit for real Mexican cuisine! 🌮🇲🇽 the only downside is that there was 18% gratitude automatically added to the check.

Not sure if I’ve ever given 1 star before but you can’t charge $20 for a burrito with the rice undercooked and super dry because hardly any pico de gallo was put in and then it gives me stomach issues the full next day and not get 1 star, not like I have a choice.

This restaurant is cute, it has Mexican decor and the menu is basic Mexican american dishes that are offered , service was quick they definitely turn tables a lot and offering a $5 happy hour that's enticing to tourist. I shared a steak and shrimp fajita that came with tortillas rice and beans and it was a decent portion as well as tasty. They did forget our drinks we had to ask for them twice, thankfully the music makes it a good vibe.

This ain't no Taco Bell! The standout for me is the mexican street corn with jalapeno butter and cotija cheese. Goes down well with a cane sugar Mexican coke. Yum!

It’s a shame the food was actually decent for NY Mexican food. The service was the absolute worst I’ve experienced anywhere in a long time. I witnessed two tables leave because no one attended them and there’s a table to my right that’s been here for twenty minutes no service no drinks or anything. I must have gotten lucky to get my food. Unfortunately they forced me to tip 18% on the bill which is probably why they give terrible service because the tip is forced on the bill. If not I wouldn’t have tip anything. No manager to talk to or anything. They need help. Owner dm me if you want advice on running the front of house. Kitchens good but the service is in serious need of help. For reference the server was Manuel U.

I’ve been coming here for years but the prices have gotten out of control. I always got the same to go order: a burrito bowl and a 4 oz side of guacamole. Over time the prices have gradually increased but this most recent time they charged me $9 for the side of guacamole. When I asked if that price was for real they just shrugged at me. I asked them to fix it to the menu price which is $4 and they wouldn’t. No where else in the city is charging you $9 for that. You’re better off going to the chipotle across the street.
