Everything here was amazing I had zero complaints. Great authentic Mexican cuisine and great margaritas for a good price. Will be visiting again the next time I’m in Manhattan.

I was recently in NYC with my granddaughter. We wanted Mexican, and asked our concierge for a recommendation. He told us Maiz was his go-to, and now I understand why. It was SUCH a great experience, we returned the next night for dinner! Andreas was our server, and he provided us with a 5-star experience, without the associated price tag. If you are looking for authentic, delicious Mexican food, do yourself a favor and get to Maiz.

I got food poisoning from carnitas tacos. I’ve been throwing up none stop for hours. I had to leave in the middle of a show because of it

Had a good time at maiz, andres is an hardworking man. And the staff in the kitchen were doing a great job. Hard to see that four men tried to make it hard for andres by almost starting a fight about the bill. I would definitly go back here😊

Was looking for a place that looked clean and had decent reviews by the Javits and we couldn't have been happier with our choice. The food was authentic and flavorful, and everything is made right in front of you, so you can see how fresh it actually is. We cant wait to eat our churros on the way home! Go Maize 🌽

Once upon a time, this was my favorite restaurant in the area. I absolutely loved it. I imagine the food is still just as good as always, but they have completely changed the internal vibe at the restaurant. For the worse.

It used to be a walk-through simple, quick counter service restaurant. Now, they’ve turned it into a mid scale (trying to feel upscale?) restaurant with more personal service than necessary. And it makes the whole dining experience less enjoyable.

Now it just feels like I paying higher prices for things I don’t need and likely tipping for it as well. They’ve ruined what was great about it. I don’t need to be seated. I don’t need to have someone explain the menu.

I just wanna walk up to the counter order my food get my food sit down and eat. Too bad really. It really was my favorite.

For an example of what it used to be, today, I just went to go go curry around the corner instead. Different ethnicity, but a better dining experience.
