My absolute favorite place in New York. Right across the Madison Square Park, this place has rhe most sumptuous food. The Bone marrow, fried rice, edamame, sushi, the chops and the steak were outstanding.
The server Laveena was also really helpful.
The sushi in particular was superb. Especially the crispy rice one.

Spent my Sunday morning with my dear at Blue Ribbon Sushi & Steak. We’ve been to other Blue Ribbon branches before and are always impressed with the food quality and service, so our expectations were high.
We had the 8oz Mishima steak, lamb chops, and a few sides; all of which were outstanding. The crispy rice was a pleasant surprise. It seemed like a simple dish, but the flavor and texture immediately reminded me of authentic Japanese crispy rice, perfectly paired with spicy tuna.
The lamb chops were an excellent recommendation from our server, G. Having them alongside Wagatake sake was truly superb.
The Mishima steak was cooked to the perfect temperature; tender, flavorful, and perfectly balanced between juicy and meaty.
Overall, it was an amazing Sunday afternoon experience. We’ll definitely be coming back.

Absolutely a fantastic experience. Blue Ribbon Penn is a good vibe, full of energy and offers a fun dining experience. Drinks and food are really good. I enjoy coming here with family and friends.
Having reservations at 7pm, we walked into a quite packed restaurant which is always a good sign. The restaurant looked pristine, and very upscale.
Having a look at their specials, I immediately opted in for their live scallop. When this arrived, my jaw was on the ground. The presentation alone was mind-blowing. We were even explained the "skirt" part of the scallop was served with a special sauce. This was an amazing starter that oozed freshness.
For mains, I opted in for their Sushi Deluxe Platter. This includes 10 pieces of nigiri and a roll. Each and every piece was expertly formed with perfect seasoned sushi rice. Each fish was at its optimum quality and showcased their own unique and distinct characteristics. I also decided to add an order of their Hokkaido Uni and O-Toro. The uni was fresh, slightly briny and had a subtle sweetness to it. The o-toro was rich, and completely melted in my mouth. An excellent piece of nigiri worth every penny.
Another main entree which was ordered was their American Domestic Wagyu Steak from Mishima Ranch. The presentation of this dish also was stunning. The steak itself was juicy, tender and cooked to the perfect requested medium rare.
There was a slight hiccup in terms of timing with our dishes. The steak came significantly faster than the sushi entrees. By the time the steak was almost done being eaten, the sushi entrees finally arrived. This came with many sincere apologies and a dessert on the house. This was a very kind and unexpected gesture.
What would have been a 4-star easily goes to a 5-star review based on their immediate recognition of the timing with the dishes and their ability to make up for it in a very sincere and honest way.
Overall, a great experience and I can confidently say this is some of the best sushi I've ever eaten.

Went in with high expectations since I've eaten many times at Blue Ribbon in SOHO, but while the food was presented well it unfortunately was just average in taste and certainly not worth the high price tag.
This restaurant should do well with out of towners or tourists because the food woukd be above average for most of them but I doubt it will get a strong Manhattan resident following.
Details: 1- Wagyu meatballs appetizer was good. Cooked and seasoned perfectly. 2- steak frites, served already cut and with fries. Why pre-cut the meat and serv on a non-heated plate? The food was cold within a minute. 3- sashimi deluxe, fresh and well presented but only mediocre cuts of fish. Nothing higher end like toro or uni...just the standard cuts you can get for half the price anywhere else. 3- sushi regular, was what you would expect, again nothing great. 4- strip steak, also precut for some dumb reason. Ordered well and came out medium rare. Overpriced, cooked wrong, cold within 2mins.
Won't be going back.
