We thoroughly enjoyed our meal at Boqueria W 40th Street. We were visiting NYC and had purchased tickets to see Hamilton on Broadway. We wanted to find a spot for a light dinner that we could enjoy early since the show was starting at 7. This place was recommended and we decided to give it a try. It was perfect- we shared about 6 or 7 tapa plates. The cheese plate, 2 orders of pimientos de padron (SO GOOD), the gambas al ajillo, bacon wrapped dates, boquerones with citrus, etc....
The food and service was fine. The entire experience was ruined because the restaurant decided to pack their patrons like sardines in tables. Me and my girlfriend were seated in a round table on the east side of the restaurant. My girlfriend could barely get into the booth. The tables next to us were so close to ours that every time someone sat or got up, the neighbor's table would be knocked by the body of whoever was trying to get through. A VERY NICE EXPERIEINCE, EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS WITH EXCELLENT SERVICE. ONLY DISAPPOINTMENT WERE THE BEEF STEAK SKEWERS - VERY LITTLE BEEF THAT WAS TOUGH AND DRY AND LOTS OF CHORIZCO THAT WAS NOT DISCLOSED ON THE MENU. ANCHOVIES STAND OUT.
