I have been going to Brandy Library almost since it opened. I almost have too much to say. It is the place to go to enjoy and learn about brown liquors. You can take a course there should you choose. They serve classic cocktails made perfectly. It's about the art not about strange combinations. The atmosphere is on point. Jazz on the speakers at a level that all conversation. No TVs and no one standing. The bar or comfortable settees If there's no room for you to sit they politely refuse your entrance. Great for a business drink or a place to sit with your partner and let the knowledgeable servers help you choose your drink. The finger food is not bad also. Make a reservation. Dress nicely.

If you want to be treated poorly and reminded that “strict policy” matters more than hospitality, this is your place. We showed up with one extra guest — nothing dramatic — but the staff immediately turned hostile. The person at the entrance was dismissive, robotic, and obsessed with repeating “strict policy” like a mantra, even though we weren’t arguing or even asking him to be lenient. It felt that he was getting a kick out of rejecting the group. Instead of trying to accommodate or show basic courtesy, they acted as if they were doing us a favor by letting us stay at all if of course, we paid $800 for a private room. The entire experience was cold, arrogant, and completely out of line for a place where people are supposed to go and have a good time in a welcoming atmosphere . If you value being welcomed and treated with respect, go literally anywhere else.

My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful fall🍁 afternoon in NY at the highly recommended Brandy Library. Exceptional service and perfectly curated whiskey flights suitable to your whiskey level of appreciation. Expansive selection. Swanky atmosphere with a classy vibe. Perfect day date or date night or a gathering place for whiskey enthusiasts of any level. I am from California and can't return soon enough!! While I had an enjoyable time, it was sort of weird that our group of four was placed in front of a group of two, when the rest of the place did seem like they had other table options to place us. So, it seem a bit odd. Especially when online reservation showed they had no openings yet the place was half empty? The service was top notch though, with the wait staff taking their time to carefully explain the drinks, and advice on what to order based on individual taste preferences. Cannot fault service. A great variety of whiskey. Cheese board was also delicious. It sort of exudes old boys cigar club kind of feel? Ambience...not sure how I feel about it or whether I would come back. Maybe I'll come back to reassess.

Brandy Library is one of those rare places that feels special the moment you walk in. The warm lighting, leather seating, and wall-to-wall shelves of fine spirits create an atmosphere that’s classy yet comfortable. The bartenders are true professionals — knowledgeable, friendly, and always eager to recommend something unique. Every cocktail feels expertly crafted, and the smaller food options pair beautifully with the drinks. From the apps to the mains and desserts to finish everything was delicious. Whether you’re a whiskey enthusiast or just looking for a memorable night out, this place delivers elegance without pretension. Easily one of the best lounges in NYC.
Unfortunately not very happy with our experience at the Brandy Library. They boast an exhaustive and comprehensive liquor list, but the service is simply not there to back it up. I was asking our spirit sommelier for something, and he kept pitching me on this IPA, peated cask whiskey, when I wanted something completely different. It felt like they had a quota to fill or something. Not what I would have hoped for from a place that bills itself (and charges accordingly) as an extensive collection.
We got our drinks in, then ordered food. After about 25 minutes we asked our bartender if the food was coming and he said he forgot to put it in. The lamb bites we ordered had poppy seeds on them which my wife is allergic to, and weren’t listed on the menu, but we had asked about beforehand. Apparently they can’t make them without.
Ultimately, the service here was so sub par, especially for a place that bills itself so highly, I wouldn’t go back. If you’re gonna be over charged, you might as well go across the street for a good tiramisu and glass of wine than spend your money here.

The Wicker Bar “Lord Zippy”
We were thrilled to have stumbled across this gem. Our only wish was that we could've enjoyed one their flights. The cocktails were thoughtful and well balanced. My tastes found the pisco sour a bit citrus forward. That's just me.
