ABSOLUTELY CHECK YOUR ORDER BEFORE LEAVING THE STORE!!!!
This place is almost as bad as the other location, except for at least there’s not the owner or whatever he is sitting there begging for five star reviews just to make the place look better than what it actually is. i literally feel like i have to go to the doctor to get my jaw checked from trying to chew through the untoasted bagel i ordered. Staff was rude and they thought they were slick by trying to give me two bagels that had absolutely no cream cheese on one and no butter on the other. When i showed them the bagels, they tried foolishly to argue that i was in the wrong. it’s one thing if you try to pull one over a New Yorker. it’s another thing when you’re being shown the evidence and you still try to make the customer feel like they’re wrong. This entire establishment needs to get the heck out of the city and stop pretending to be a true New York bagel establishment. They’re not. Not even close. Absolute bagels, as well as Barney’s Greengrass are far better options in the neighborhood than this and they’re NYC icons!
***Update to my review following to perplexing response from the owner/manager:
This is a review platform where people share their experiences, which yes….also may entail recs and suggestions for prospective patrons to consider in order to assist them in finding the possible option. Ultimately, it is their right to choose for themselves. If you cannot handle this reality you’re probably in the wrong business. Check the other negative reviews you’ve received. Does every negative review mean that those people are either bad or work for a competitor? That makes absolutely no sense. It actually diminishes your customer’s autonomy and intelligence, while also indicating a lack of accountability on your part. If I was a competitor, why would I list recs for competitors of other businesses. Good grief. Rest assured, my profession is quite far from the bagel business and it is very unfortunate that you feel the need to response to people’s negative experiences with accusations and character attacks. I will, however, leave both my review and your response up for others to ultimately decide for themselves where they want to spend their money as that is their right, one that I firmly believe in and am thankful that Google continues to support.
Here from Italy to try this TikTok viral spot… It was amazing, best bagels in town, big and full and is not even the best part! Bakin was amazing and treated us so well! Definitely gonna come back for this delicious experience.
Don’t miss the sweet bagels!!

I’m a moody bagel snob who left Modern Bread & Bagel at 5:05pm tonight disappointed that they don’t serve cream cheese after 5pm (we were in line at 4:45pm, grace me the dairy, dang it). I thought my night was hopeless.
Luckily, Bakim & the Broad Nosh staff on 86th made some delicious gluten free bagels for my friend and I. I got the strawberry cream cheese (because sometimes you have to dress up a plain gluten free bagel) and was delighted to find real bites of strawberry in there. It was delicious. So tasty.
Service was great! Staff was kind. Exactly what I’d hope for from an NYC UWS bagel experience.

Ordered a simple bagel with cream cheese on a Sunday morning.... been waiting for 45mins to get it, staff is rude. Everybody is aggressive because they've been waiting forever.... avoid

$18 for chicken cutlet on rye and a soda???
I can't wait until breakfast sandwiches cost more than a medium pizza pie. This is INSANITY.
There's barely room to sit or wait for your order. Why is a simple meal $18?
Who are the ppl that can afford this as a daily luxury? Not me 🤔
There are places all over the 5 boroughs that serve good food at fair prices with more staff. This is not one of them.

Amazing service by bakin!
This place used to be great—it took long to get your food the same way every bagel shop takes long in the mornings. But a few months ago they completely changed the way they took orders, making the process take forever. I was just waiting for FORTY MINUTES to get two bagels. Quality has also gone down.
