Such a great spot if you’re craving both Thai and sushi. I ordered the salmon roll and the cheese wontons, and both were amazing! The salmon roll was fresh, flavorful, and really well balanced, and the cheese wontons were crispy on the outside with a perfectly creamy filling. Everyone was so so sweet, definitely a place I’d come back to!

Food, drinks, bartenders, and atmosphere are all superb. Especially the drinks- tried one of each cocktail and it just kept getting better. But there needs to be less batter on those fried pickles. Far too much bread- far too little pickle. I always do a thin coat of dry -> wet -> dry so they don’t come out like jalapeño poppers

I was in the East Village with my boyfriend and decided to stop into Bua because of its Irish name - I’m Irish myself and thought it looked like a nice spot. We ordered a carafe of wine to share (about three glasses each) and were enjoying ourselves.
It was quiet when we arrived around 5 p.m., but it soon got busier. The waitress came over a few times to ask if we wanted more drinks, even though we were drinking at a normal pace and still had plenty of wine left.
When we each still had a full glass, she asked if we wanted to pay - which we did. A few minutes later, while we were still finishing our drinks, she came back and told us - quite rudely- she needed the table back in five minutes. We were taken aback, as no one had mentioned any kind of time limit.
The people sitting next to us overheard and said they thought it was really strange. I can understand wanting to turn tables when it’s busy, but we were treated like we’d been sitting there for hours with one drink, when in reality we’d had multiple glasses of wine and had only been there just over an hour.
It’s a pity, because the bar itself seemed lovely at first — but after that experience, I wouldn’t go back.

Disappointed. Clearly the door man hates his life (especially tonight) and denied us service. We are all above the age of 22. Didn't even look at our IDs. Just told us we look young (I guess that's a compliment) and to get out. Sorry I'm in my youth.
