The service is TERRIBLE. The WORST service I have had in NYC. I do not know if the woman staff with short hair is the owner or just an employee. If she was hired, PLEASE fire her!!!! PLEASE!!!! We were here on a Friday, and there were barely any customers in the store. I said 'hello' to that staff, but she just glanced at me and then continued to look at the computer. She didn't even say any word back. I ordered one coffee and one latte, and it cost me $18. Our drinks were ready for a while. We sat in the corner, and the waiter left the drinks on the desk in front of us without letting us know they were ready. (I didn't want to mention that the drinks were terrible because the awful taste of the coffee was overshadowed by her terrible attitude.) I had planned to take some pictures in the store, and the waiter came to me and complained that I didn't ask her permission to take pictures. There is no sign or anything that says 'no pictures.' I don't understand why she expects others to speak to her after I friendly said 'hello' and received no response. Fine, I apologized for that and asked her if I could take pictures, but she said no…... Trust me, if this cafe doesn't change this terrible staff, no one is going to come back to this store again.

The coffee is delicious. They have independent books, magazines and photography. Excellent place and curatorship.

Cool little spot but i have to dock two stars for no bathroom ? Might seem harsh but new york has a big shortage of bathrooms and i always have to pee after drinking an ice tea!
