Really disappointing. We'd expected so much more, given the star chef's reputation and other reviews. The appetizers were not just tasteless, one seemed actually to be past due (we were assured it wasn't but know what we tasted). A restaurant called “Butter” obliges you to pay $7 for bread and two small pats of butter?! Main course one ok, the other over sauced. We didn't stay for dessert. There are far better midtown and theater district choices.
Food was amazing! I had the pork chop and it was HUGE. My wife had the branzino (fish) and she said it tasted better with every bite. All told an awesome dinner, will visit again!!
Jasmine was an awesome server who treated us well. Gnocchi Mac and Cheese forever hitting.
Attentive & welcoming staff greeted us. Was VERY EXCITED about EVERYTHING on the menu. From our drinks to dessert it was an absolute treat we were celebrating a birthday & engagement Could not have asked for a better experience.
Was very disappointed in my experience as I'm a big fan of Alex (still am) and have wanted to go for years. Was greeted by two very low key, tired looking hostesses who just told me to walk in. Grabbed a seat at the bar - bartender was lovely and wonderful. The parkerhouse rolls tasted 3 days old and were flavorless. The salmon plate came lukewarm. Buerre blanc sauce was almost broken. Salmon was cooked beautifully but everything else just meh. Location is great and it was an ok enough pre-show meal. But I was expecting a lot more.
The parkers rolls and butter make carbs the friend, not foe. Worth it just for a drink and those buttery bad boys. Steak was amazing as well as the crab toasts. Porck chop best i ever tried and i dont usually like pork. The place smells amazing, toasty and warm like a cabin in the mountains but it looks sophisticated. Loved the whole experience
Great atmosphere and food. Always very busy so book ahead or plan to sit at the bar.
Very comfortable space, delicious food and wonderful service. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner.
The bbq short ribs are amazing. Save room for dessert, the pastry chef is phenomenal! I had roasted mission figs with fennel frozen yogurt. An outstanding meal!
The best boneless short ribs I've had in NYC with polenta as a perfect complement.
A bit pricey, but worth it.

The atmosphere and service were amazing. The food was extremely disappointing. We ordered the branzino and short ribs. The branzino was cooked nicely but lacked flavor. The sauce with the fish was too acidic. The polenta with the short ribs tastes like cream and short ribs were underwhelming. Very disappointing.
Exceptional service and spectacular food. A wonderful dining experience, especially right before seeing a show.
Friendly staff, quick service, and excellent results!
Food is OUTSTANDING BRAVO Alex 👏ambiance delightful & dim. Private party made a bit of noisy experience but delicious 😋
Food is fresh healthy delicious and never disappoints. Staff is welcoming gracious and attentive. For lunch it is dark and music was a little loud. It is one of my local favorites.
