Service can be inconsistent, but there is NOTHING inconsistent about the amazing food. To put it in perspective, their Sacher torte is better than the original from the Sacher Hotel in Vienna. Yes, they are THAT good.

We have to wait for long time to get in, get security check, throw our water bottle away to get in.
We ordered Sacha torte and a pancake. Surprisingly the pancake tasted better than the supposed to be good Sacha torte. The original Sacha torte to tasted in Vienna was enriched with full layers of chocolate and this one only a thin layer outside. Yes inflation kills the content.

Pretty authentic Austrian food and vibe. Being that it’s quiet and pretty tame. I had a chocolate torte and a latte which were both exceptionally crafted. Clearly fresh and no added sugar.
The one thing that threw me was the crowd itself. My girlfriend and I were probably the only ones in the cafe under the age of 60. Not that, that’s a problem, but certainly feels a little odd. But I supposed that is to be expected with a cafe attached to a museum.
Also, keep in mind that breakfast is also only served from 9-11am.

Great Cafe. Okay food. Worst service. We were asked to finish our coffee because there was a line waiting outside. It had only been one hour. Maybe we were the only Asian customers at the moment?

Save for a few, most of the servers are rude. Ignoring our table and choosing to do literally anything else instead. Its a shame since the food was good. I'd would recommend eating elsewhere if you want a worthwhile experience.

The line for the cafe is on the left of the entrance. The security keeps the queues organized. To visit the cafe you needn’t go through security even without a museum visit. The cafe is intimate and dark with its wooden panels. Menu is comprehensive with the Austrian pastry classics. The pastries are great and could also have been served in Austria. One minus is the size. European sizes are generally smaller but the size of the pastry is even for Europeans extremely small especially when priced at 15$. Service is quick and friendly.

A bit of Vienna in NYC. The atmosphere. The small tables. The service. The food. Omg the food! I go there everything I miss Old Classical Europe.

We waited on line, then were seated in a crowded room. The room is pretty, but seating is tight and tables are small. We each ordered a dessert and something to drink. I asked if both iced teas were caffeine-free, and was told yes. That was wrong, so my iced tea had to be switched. My dessert, the klimtorte, looked much better than it tasted. In fact, it was essentially tasteless. My tea was tasty, but unfortunately it spilled all over the table and me, and was not replaced. That’s because, after a total of a half hour, the check was presented and we were encouraged to leave. Even though I was soaking wet. I guess this is a place to soak tourists - we New Yorkers will not be back.
It’s always perfect place for breakfast lunch and dinner or cabaret shows .
