They claim to have developed the original cappuccino from the early 1900s. Very good coffees and dessert that's what we had.

Strong coffee
Great little place to visit for hot drinks. I had the Granola yogurt with a hot chocolate and it was delicious. People also come in to take picture of the inside so could be busy. Will come again soon!

I luv the tomato souppp
Went here with my daughter (she studied here @F.I.T.) and loved the place. It was November and cold but we sat first outside so we could say we had a cappuccino here, well I had one.
My daughter had a warm spiced spiked applejuice, her favorite there. Luckily later we could sit inside.
Hope to come back sometime but we're from The Netherlands, so it will take some time I'm afraid.

I stopped by late at night and was surprised by how lively it still was—people reading, working on laptops, and chatting, which gave the place a really warm, cozy energy.
I had a latte and a couple of desserts, and everything was just right for the hour. Smooth coffee, simple but satisfying desserts, and a relaxed vibe that made me want to stay longer. A great late-night spot if you want something calm but still full of life.

This is one of the last remaining cafes with that “NYC of the late 90s/early 00s” energy (especially late weeknights), but the service just SUCKS. It almost feels like they are intentionally ignoring customers, but I can’t fathom why they would do that.
On the plus side, I guess you don’t feel rushed…

The establishment offers a cozy ambiance, rich in historical architectural elements, providing a tangible sense of its heritage. We recommend that the bar staff and personnel enhance their speed and proactivity in service delivery.

Went to this place for the first time on my most recent trip to NYC two weeks ago. Love it. Dig the old style and feel. Had a cappacino and some kind of Italian soup the name of I cannot recall. Will return next time I'm in NYC.

History, ambiance, coffee is great. Food and service is sub-par…at best. Sad - because this is an iconic gem.

Cracked plates , the cappuccino was bitter and the hot chocolate was oily for some reason the whipped cream forgot it was supposed to have flavor the fries were mushy and oily to the point texas is trying to drill it , the bread was older them my great grandma's grandfather and the waiters and bartender forget how to talk to people cussing customers to their face , this place became a joke its a shame history gets trashed like this... Do Better

Beautiful, historic and completely wild that they will turn away 2 people who want to eat and drink because there's only a table for 4 left while the place is absolutely full of single people taking up a table for 2 while they drink a cup of coffee and write on their laptop for hours on end
I LOVEEEEE IT
