This hotel is, unfortunately, permanently closed. A victim of the pandemic. The 4 stars are for the fond memories of staying here multiple times.

Staying on the Upper West Side is such a great experience. Stayed her for about a week. Took a nice walk to the park every morning, close to everything. Lots of great restaurants near by and the Subway station is on the same block. This is a great place to stay if you a familiar with the city and you are looking for a nice quiet place to relax.

We came from Scotland for a trip of a lifetime to NY. The Exclelsior didn’t disappoint. We even lost our boarding passes and the receptionist was able to call the airline and print us a new one. 10/10

Prepaid three nights directly with the hotel. Hotel is closed with no information on how to get a refund. They have an email address that no one answers.

Great hotel. Great location. My only complaint was the hot water. It seemed to be a roll of the dice on whether it was hot or ice cold

The absolute worst. Total scam of a hotel. Booked me for 2 rooms instead of 1 and when I found out they refused to refund my credit card the charge for the 2nd room! I called them and they literally told me to F'off. I can't say it enough, don't book this hotel!

A very spacious and comfortable hotel only about 500m from the Natural History Museum, Central Park and the B & C line metro stations. The Excelsior is modern with good wi-fi and very comfortable beds. There's a restaurant as well and there's a supermarket about 800m away. There's no tea or coffee facilities in the room but they do have the world's slowest and least functional coffee machine downstairs (morning only). Skip the queues and get the coffee elsewhere though. Most of the staff at the hotel are friendly as well.

I stayed here recently and was pleasantly surprised. This is a terrific part of Manhattan....less crowded and much more manageable than busy, overcrowded, pushy Midtown. Terrific restaurants nearby and free coffee, tea and granola bars to indulge in while waiting for your family getting ready in the morning. It's a bit old fashioned...which I appreciate. I certainly will consider staying here again!

This is an older property and the rooms vary, but we loved this adjoining room set up traveling with our teens!

Very unusual experience at this amazing hotel. Wonderful friendly staff that goes out of their way to help with any needs. Be aware of room 1012!

Very nice place. I had to stay here for a night after a long work day. Hotel is very quiet and clean. Very friendly staff and located in convenient and yet quiet neighborhood of NYC right off central park. If I had to stay in city again this will be my go to place

We stayed there for 2 nights and everything was very good. It was our second visit and as good as the first one. Close to Central Park, subway and Natural History Museum. Very comfortable beds, modern TVs, hair dryer and a courtesy coffee.
