I tried appetizer with fresh fruit, calamari and veal for Entree.

Service is 10/10 and I love fancy/calm places so It deserves a 5 stars.

Recommend - Worth visiting.

Canaletto is a restaurant that locals love! In a huge city Canaletto is a refuge, an oasis where you go to relax and have a great time knowing that you will be taken care of by the first rate staff while enjoying their FANTASTIC food. Literally everything they make is glorious and while the menu reads simply - lamb chops, halibut, soft shell crab, tuna tartare, rabbit, venison, and all the homemade pastas - the freshness of their ingredients is second to none.

You will not find fresher seafood anywhere in NYC and that's because the chef goes to the Fulton fish market at MIDNIGHT 3 times a week. Last night I had gazpacho with crab - so good - and Cacio e Pepe (pasta with romano and black pepper ) that is both so hard to make and yet appears deceptively simple when made well - it melted in my mouth.

My husband had what we call the best tuna tartare in the city, so good because it *trusts* the quality of the tuna - you will not find fresher tuna in NYC unless you're on a boat pulling it out of the sea, and the in-season soft shell crab, which if it's available, well just order it!

The desserts are all made in-house so please save room, I honestly don't know how they do it, but they do! And the bar, well I'll just say this - they really know how to fix a great martini - ice cold, filled to the brim, perfectly delivered - they practically have diamonds in them :-). In the heart of New York City, this is a place that makes you feel like you've come home, and the truth is, you have. Tell Elvis that Stephen sent you!

Charming low profile restaurant for those in the know. We enjoyed delicious homemade pasta and the veal special. Tiramisu was excellent. Highly recommend.

My favorite restaurant in nyc. Relaxed atmosphere, excellent food, and amazing staff. The fish is especially good. Pasta dishes and seafood are great as well.

A very local spot that’s loved by its patrons. Family run, everyone has been there for years and it feels very comfy. Chicken in balsamic reduction is my fav and the warm sabaglionne with fresh berries keeps me coming back. Most restaurant make this sublime dessert earlier in the day and keep it in the refrigerator… I won’t eat it cold. This is the only kitchen that makes it that moment and serves it warm and delicious… as it should be. I’ve looked for this dessert in NYC for forty years and this is the only place I’ve found that makes it correctly. Elvis is terrific, no sweeter tiny bar and near the Angelika. What more could one ask?

We visited today and loved the food. We were able to reserve a table at the last minute, which we appreciated. However, the server assigned to take the plates and bring the appetizers (not our main server) was extremely passive-aggressive. He removed our food without asking for permission and seemed annoyed by every question we asked. I understand he might have been tired at the end of the night, but that is not our problem as customers. His attitude made the experience unpleasant, and because of this, we won’t be returning. Thank you.

I haven’t been to a restaurant in a very very long time where I was truly beyond impressed. The most fresh and amazing food I’ve ever had. So authentic and delicious I wish I ordered more. The atmosphere is amazing. The service is quick and attentive. Very kind and hard working staff. The dessert was truly to die for. A lot of effort and care will go into your meal. Could not recommend this place more. Made great memories here with my dad because of how wonderful it was. The veal is to absolutely die for.
