Planned a dinner with friends at Canary Club for a special event. The planning process was so easy, Ashley Vega and Natalie Tran are the maitre’d and event coordinator and are incredibly patient and professional and made the entire experience seamless. Canary Club is a great place for jazz. Kind of a happy medium between a basement jazz club like Smalls and an upscale place like Smoke. Dim lights, cool vibe. I was there in October 2023. The food was good, service was friendly. You can't make a reservation for one person but if you walk in, they'll seat you and not make you feel like a second class citizen if you're alone. Friendly staff, tasty food, and excellent jazz on no cover Wednesday. Savored the Hurricanes with umbrellas, carrot tempura, brussels sprouts, and wood-fired cauliflower. A couple of notes if you go: a 7 pm reservation for the music downstairs means entry at 7 (though the host kindly seated us earlier and we were able to get a happy hour cocktail).
