I had a bad experience with the waitress who was rude to me right from the start but for some reason kept sucking up to my mother who came with me. After eating we kept asking for a check since we had a concert to go to but that waitress kept flirting with another customer 3 tables down for close to 15 minutes. When it came to settling the bill, she was standing over me (I was paying by the way) to make sure that she gets the tip. The service and the food is not at the level of the prices. They are basically making money off of being across Carnegie Hall and are being very arrogant. The girl who welcomed us at the door was very nice though. It appeared that decent people had mediocre jobs, while those that employed the tactic 'who screams louder is right' had better jobs. If there was any truth to their good rep before then right now it seems like this place is going under.

This was not my 1st trip to NYC but it was my 1st trip to the diner. It was very busy but the gentleman Nick that was running the door was so nice and helpful. He did an amazing job at getting people seated quickly. The food was sensational. This will definitely be on list of must haves when I am in the city. 100% recommend the Carnegie Diner & Cafe.

I can’t get enough of this place. I love love the easy simple but not so simple dishes. I’ve had breakfast here a couple times now. My most favorite is the classic French toast. Fast service all around and very pleasant staff. If you’re in the mode for some good food I would highly recommend this joint!

This place never disappoints. I love going here when I am in New York. Make sure that you go really hungry because the portions are very large, but it's part of the NYC experience! And the personel is very friendly! All around great ...I go everytime I'm in NYC.
