Very nice and cozy place with very special and sophisticated desserts

I visited around two years ago and I’m sad to report that the prices have gone up significantly and the portion sizes are much smaller. A simple matcha latte here is 12 dollars. The matcha tiramisu seems a quarter of its size from two years ago and is now
More expensive at $16.

Came here multiple times over the years for the afternoon tea. Recently came for the matcha afternoon tea and it’s still as delicious and enjoyable as ever. The portions are small but beautiful. The matcha cookies were delicious and I was feeling quite full afterwards. Love their themed concepts and looking forward to trying more!

Grossly over priced for dollar store matcha. Not worth coming here.

The desserts here are soooo overpriced and small and they don’t even taste that good. BEWARE you also need to buy at least one item per person (which makes it more expensive) which they only told us after we tried to order one thing between 2 people. We only paid because we wanted to use the restroom here and sit in the AC. The service was ok until I didn’t tip (which in hindsight I should’ve) but the server then asked me why I didn’t tip and if the service was lacking in anyway and told me I could leave a cash tip (I only had $20 bills so I don’t think so). It was just really awkward and veryyy uncouth of her to do so. Keep in mind the iPad was turned away from her when I was paying too so why is she spying? Don’t people usually try to look away so customers don’t feel pressured? Anyways that just ruined the already not great experience we were having there. I will never come back.

By the way we got the Sakura drop (was not good - as u can expect it just tasted like
brown sugar syrup) and the matcha tiramisu (tasted fine but so small)

Expensive desserts but they do taste delicious. Can get quite crowded at peak hours.

The afternoon tea was extremely overpriced, there’s no way this can possibly be worth $80 per person. The food served was very mediocre, for $80 I would expect something a bit more special, not rice with sliced cucumbers, rice with a little smoked salmon, and rice with a small piece of fried eel. The desserts were also ok, again, for the price id expect a bit more, at least something aesthetically pleasing. The ambience of the tea room itself wasn’t very nice, the lighting is a bit aggressive and just not very comfortable and inviting. All in all, I think there are a lot of nicer afternoon tea places and this one can be skipped.

Simple works

As a reviewer, I love discovering those hidden spots that people pass by every day without noticing, and Cha-An is definitely one of them. I walked past this little tea house three times before I finally decided to stop in—and I’m so glad I did.

The moment you step inside, you’re transported to another world, a mystical place where Japanese cuisine is elevated to an art form. The atmosphere is calm and inviting, making it the perfect escape from the city’s hustle and bustle.

The food at Cha-An is simply amazing. Every dish is crafted with care, from the delicate tea selections to the beautifully presented desserts. If you’ve ever wanted to experience Japanese food at a high level, this is the place to go. Each bite takes you on a journey, and by the time you’re done, you’ll find yourself in awe of what just happened.

If my friends ever invited me to come back and eat here, I’d be the first one in line, eagerly waiting for another round of this incredible experience. Don’t let this little gem pass you by—give it a try, and prepare to be amazed.

We ordered the sakura jelly drop and the matcha tiramisu. They were both good but super tiny and pricy. The service was not the friendliest as they do pressure you to tip more on the spot, which made us feel uneasy! First time encountering this ever lol. We ended up tipping more and no ‘thank you’ whatsoever. Please save your time and $$ and visit other dessert places.
