Reviews for Sobaya

Came here on a monday lunch time and there was no wait! I got their mini lunch set, but don't be fooled by the name, its not "mini" at all, haha! I left feeling quite full and content. The eel over rice is a MUST- it was so good and was a pretty decent amount. The cold soba was amazing too- perfect for the warmer weather outside. Cute, little place for a quick meal!

I've been coming here for 20 years and I've noticed the last couple years, the portions have gone down, but prices go up. Soba-ya used to give generous portions. I went this past Sunday and got the season special of Age-tofu (hot) soba, the large portion I went for by the way. There were TWO pieces of tofu. My friend and I were shocked and immediately said "stingy" and "what happened to this place." My friend asked "didn't you get the large portion?" There should have been full review
One of my all time favorite restaurants and the best soba you can find outside of Japan. Get the chirashi soba, hot or cold. It has shiitake, tamago, and tempura made of mitsuba and tiny tiny baby sardines. May sound different but the flavors are amazing and it's not overly fishy. I've been here tHree times on one trip. The apps are bomb too. Their kinpira gobo takes me back to how my Bachan used to make it during New Years. They also have a sampler appetizer you can full review
