I had a great experience at Chatti NYC. I went with my friends and the restaurant exceeded our expectations. From decor to the minute details, everything reminded me of my Kerala roots. There was no compromise on taste and presentation. We had the honor of meeting Chef Regi Mathew and he was so kind and humble. Our favorites were the toddy, beef fry, mutton biriyani, paal kappa, and shrimp mango.

very unusual regional indian cuisine. excellent flavors and unique. chef regi is gracious and talented. if you want to experience hyper regional cuisine this is the place to go .... downside is the tables are close... the place is popular so loud and hectic... service suffers a bit when crowded

Had a fantastic time at chatti - the food was adipoli (fantastic) and took me back home! Definitely my best kerala food experience in the US. The beef roast was my favorite, but everything we ordered was pretty solid. They have managed to get Toddy as well. Thank you Mr. Regi Mathew!

Go w the food pairings. Vegan options here! No egg except in the biriyani. No dairy except in the biriyani and desserts. There was one vegan dessert - sago with tropical fruit. The food was so flavorful and spicy-ish where thereās enough kick in the mouth but NOT your stomach burns. Food feels more family style but you can get your own (like thai food). Going to bring everyone here!

Decent food and ambience. But amateur service, we were constantly rushed and in some cases they just took the plates and food away even though we werenāt done. Overall a very confusing experience
Restaurantji Recommends
The food at this restaurant was decent, but the quality of the cuisine was completely overshadowed by a truly atrocious and rushed service experience.
Despite having a reservation, we were forced to wait 45 minutes past our scheduled time. Once we were finally seated, we were aggressively rushed throughout the entire meal. Though our group maintains a very reasonable dining pace, the staff seemed singularly focused on turning the table over quickly.
This aggressively hurried behavior was a consistent problem: waiters repeatedly removed plates that still had food on them from multiple guests without asking permission.
This was, unequivocally, the single worst dining experience I have ever had in an NYC restaurant. The fact that I am writing this review the moment I got home is a testament to how shockingly unprofessional the treatment was. This level of unacceptable behavior is not tolerable for an establishment at this price point, failing to meet the standards of even a much less expensive place.

Out of all the restaurants I dined during my stay at New York City this was the most disappointing !
The food is not that great and the portion sizes are so small that it is almost comical
For the price paid we didnāt leave full and were left quite dissatisfied

An amazing dining experience! The food was spectacular and the extra touches: amuse buche and intermezzo pallet cleanser were lovely. Great vibe and service. So close to Penn for us commuters! Iāve already been planning when to go back.

Food was terrible, fish entrƩe was tasteless, the fried chicken starter also was bland. Will never go back again, it was nothing like Kerala cuisine.
