Though I enjoyed pretty much everything the food. Margaritas were great I do feel the menu selection could be better. Was really disappointed the chicken and waffles were no longer on the menu.
We came to celebrate our friends birthday and wow between the ambiance, the service all around, to ordering almost all of the Tapas menu and enjoying every item more and more this place did not disappoint!
Exceptional food at a very good price. Lovely setting. Comfortable seating. Good wine list. Some standouts on the menu: fried artichoke, shrimp al ajillo, shishito peppers, patatas bravas, and white pizza. We just had tapas and dessert. The creme brulée was creamy and the chocolate ganache cake was truly over the top! Thick and chocolate-y. The house manager was extremely attentive in making sure our requests were handled quickly and with charm. He even adjusted speakers for us when possible since the vibe here is lively and we were four people who actually wanted to talk to (and hear) each other. This restaurant is an amazing newcomer to the area. We are from out of town, and were looking for a place between mid-town Manhattan and Northern New Jersey, and this was perfect! Highly highly recommend. Great food, and a good time.
We are so happy to have Chez Messy in our neighborhood. It was the perfect place to take an out of town guest - fun decor, energetic vibe, good music. ur server, Luna, was great, the manager was welcoming, bartender entertaining to watch mix drinks like an alchemist, and the tapas were great. We ordered papas bravas, mofonguitos, bang bang shrimp, and sliced steak. The shrimp was the biggest hit, as was the steak. We have had the ropa viejo empanadas in the past, which were also excellent. We'll be back!
Everything was good except that we requested a small quiet table and they had a DJ playing from 2 pm, when we arrived, up until at least 4 pm. The music was good but the volume level was needlessly loud for the 15 guests in the space and the totally subdued atmosphere. It wasn't a dance party and the space is like the size of a large studio apartment. Half the volume would have been more than enough. Cocktails were very good. Food was tasty.
We had such fun at this little gem! All the tapas we tasted were amazing. Service from the moment we entered the door was personal and flawless. The Sunday early evening vibe was dancy and so welcoming to all 4 of us, including my 80 year old sister. The owner even stopped over to say hello. If I lived in the City, I would become a regular! Alas, I am based on the West Coast.
Staff was amazing. Music was on point. Food was delicious. Definitely plan on coming back.
Very good food. Had the place to ourselves for a while so was able to get music turned down. Inexperienced but fairly attentive staff. Definitely a place for younger diners (Instagram set) but we had a nice time
Exceptional experience, this was my second visit with a different group of friends celebrating a birthday. Always love sharing this little hidden gem
I was exploring the neighborhood and this was no "the list". I was not disappointed! (other than they were out of the Haricots Verts Lyonnaise! I have to com back for them...)
The food was great and the service was so friendly and welcoming. I sent pics to a friend in California and he wants to visit!
Only "complaint": the Brussels sprouts were too sweet sitting in a pool of syrup. Less is more...

This place is a hidden gem! The ambience of the restaurant is beautiful. I feel like I want to take a picture of the whole place. Messiah was very helpful along with Landon. I enjoy the DJ too. The staff was on point and attentive.. the food was absolutely wonderful..very tasty and well seasoned. My friend came with me and enjoyed the food as well and the desert.. I can't wait to return .I advise anyone to come to this restaurant.. today's low fusion spot that you would enjoy. Just make sure you make that right turn if you're coming from uptown on Broadway or else that left turn and you will see it.. KUDOS TO THE SPOT AND I WISH THEM WELL..

This is an Instagram place, not more than that, if you want to take photos this is for you, but if you want real Spanish or at least good food this is not your spot at all. Food is tasteless and such small portions, the attention was fine. I actually regret having gone there but at least you are aware now.

A true hidden gem. Came on a Wednesday which had live flamenco music and dance.
Somehow each dish that came out was better than before? The calamari is great for a starter (I'm not a person who enjoys spice but the sauce served with the calamari is the exact fine balance of sweet and spicy.) Their bread is great for either the cheese or ham plate if you order that for the table.
The salmon couscous comes with a mango salsa but however they put together the couscous makes it taste as though you're tasting it for the first time. And to top it all off, the chocolate ganache cake for dessert shut everyone at the table up as we had visceral, transcendent, and out of body experiences with all of the flavors. Please tell the culinary team that they'd make bank with a cookbook - I'm already thinking about my next visit. ??

A great experience. Delicious food in an elegant setting. A few steps away from the #1 subway stop. Don’t miss Wednesday Flamenco. Outstanding.
