Exemplary Service Above and Beyond – A Rare Gem in Manhattan
I want to take a moment to recognize the exceptional professionalism and dedication of Boris, the manager at Chirp’s 2nd Avenue location. In an era where customer service often feels rushed or impersonal—especially in a fast-paced city like Manhattan—Boris demonstrated what true commitment to excellence look like.
Our office had placed a large group order for 25 people through a third-party delivery platform. Due to a technical glitch, the order was never transmitted to the restaurant. We only discovered this after I called Chirp to check on the delay.
At that moment, Boris could have simply explained the situation, apologized, and moved on—which would have been entirely understandable. Instead, he immediately took ownership of the issue, even though it was not his fault, and told us, “I will take care of this for you.”
True to his word, Boris and his team swiftly prepared the full order—an undertaking that undoubtedly disrupted their normal operations. Not only that, he personally delivered the food to our office, ensuring that our team event wasn’t derailed. Our meals arrived hot, delicious, and everyone was happy.
This level of service is incredibly rare and deserves to be recognized. Boris didn’t just solve a problem—he turned a potential disaster into a moment of gratitude. His actions reflect a commitment to customer satisfaction that is all too uncommon today.
Thank you, Boris, for your integrity and kindness. You’ve earned loyal customers, and we’ll be sharing this story with others as an example of what great service truly looks like.
Good chicken for the price. I would recommend to order chicken with the plantains. Vegetables are ok. Salad is ok.
Food is good. Price is great for 1/4 chicken and 2 sides. I feel like it's much healthier and tastier than things around this area. And you get much more for your money!
Great chicken will get chicken again
Stumbled on this place and decided to try it. I ordered the stir fry (lomos al pollo) and it was great. Great flavors, portions and the green sauce is spot on. If you like Peruvian food, this is a great lunch spot. Looking forward to trying other menu items soon.
The food was so flavorful, fresh, and decadent. The chicken was seasoned and cooked to perfection. The fries were flavorful. I loved the garlic based salad dressing too. My only thing with this place is not enough seating!
I love Peruvian food and couldn't wait to try this spot. When I arrived I found parking a few blocks away. I walked into a cozy restaurant. The owner Carla helped me and my friend. We ordered:
Peruvian corn
Rotisserie chicken
shrimp stir fry
beef stir fry sandwich
Flan
Passionfruit pie
The food was very good. My favorite dish absolutely was the shrimp stir fry. It was super flavorful! All in all I had a good experience!
Squash stew bowl ($13) was okay but not many vegetarian options
Best peruvian in manhattan for cheap.

I’m sure their quarter and half chicken meals are great. I’ll get that next time. The stir fry chicken bowl is definitely a ripoff. $18 for what is essentially just rice (50% of bowl), fries (15%) tomatoes and onions (20%) and actually protein -15%. The cost of all these ingredients is probably like $2-3.
Food was excellent. We ordered an empanada, a beef stir fry and some fried yuka.
Great Tasty Chicken. And the price is great, better priced than the two pizza places around the area on 2nd Ave.
I have been coming here for over a year and always ordered the rotisserie chicken. It was always very delicious, except tonight. This evening I went in and ordered a full rotisserie chicken and the quarters were cut up into smaller pieces. The skin was soggy and the center of the pieces of chicken were cold and had a refrigerator taste to them. This chicken was obviously old and was reheated. I also had to wait a really long time for the order to come out. This is really disappointing. I don’t like being treated like I’m an idiot. They took advantage and served horrible food. I will never go back here. They should be ashamed of themselves serving this garbage. If I could give zero stars for this, then I would’ve. Do better!!!
