I went here on a whim after work to purchase some Valentine’s chocolate …. I sort of wish I didn’t! No other chocolate will live up to theirs. The staff was so helpful and kind, you’ve got a customer for life. Would recommend any of their ganache chocolates as well as the espresso caramel chocolate. Incredible!

My husband and I went to Chocolate Moderne to buy some chocolates for my birthday.
As soon as you walk in, the smell of chocolate just hits you. The owners had samples out for customers to try, and they were delicious.
Not only was the chocolate amazing, but the service was excellent. Joan helped us pick out flavors, advised us on which ones had no alcohol, and even gave us extra samples to try.
We'll definitely be coming here again.

Been coming here for 3 years; never fails to disappoint with their fruity flavors! They have some experimental chocolates for tasting and you can ask to try some small pieces if you're gon make a large order. Though they rotate some chocolates out, they keep most and are consistently good.

I’ve been coming here for over 15 years. I gift these chocolates to friends and family every Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Every new person I introduce to consistently tells me these are the best chocolates they’ve ever tasted in their lives, and it works for me as well.
And I’ll give you a critical piece of advice: always get a box or a few bars for yourself. They do hold the secret to happiness.

Amazing selection of chocolates in a random, nondescript building. They have a great selection of bonbons and their monkey bars are equally as amazing. Sampled a couple of bon bons, the pistachio one was my favorite. Bought a box of bonbons for my boyfriends grandma and got ourselves a black sesame monkey bar. The monkey bar was vegan but you can't even tell! Highly recommended.

In an unassuming business in Chelsea, on the 9th floor, you will find this beautiful wonderland of pure magic. I have now been back 2x and will continue to not only visit for my indulgence, but anytime I need any gift, or want to show love to someone, Chocolat Moderne is my go to!

On my way home, I wanted to grab chocolates for my wife’s birthday. Luckily in my search between my office and penn station, I found Chocolat Moderne. I had the pleasure of meeting Jim, who is the kindest gentleman. I believe we was the owner or the husband of the founder.
He helped me curate a wonderful box of heart shaped chocolates tailored to her tastes. He also beautifully wrapped the chocolates. She loved them all. I’m so glad I found my go to chocolate shop nearby that also allows me to support a small business. I highly recommend to all chocolate lovers.
This shop has been here for years and even scored a feature in the New York Times, yet I was surprised to find it… like some confectionery speakeasy hiding in plain sight.
Each bite was a tiny, silky portal to a better dimension where everything is rich, velvety, and dusted with discovery.

Just visited a few days ago and for the first time I didn't see Joan at the front!!!. Glad the old couple gets a break haha.
