Everything was amazing. Nice atmosphere. Good food. Good drinks. Service was amazing and friendly. Didn't feel rushed. After we were doing eating we stayed for drinks.

Truly wanted to love this place since I tried so hard to score a reservation, but sadly I left with nothing but negative things to say. My overall impression was Mcnugget vibes from the nuggets and even though the chicken was crispy, I didn't feel like the flavor was there. I wish the sauces that came with the chicken were more Korean inspired flavors rather than typical sauces you'd get with chicken. The service and ambiance were great, but since I came with high expectations for the food, I wish i had more positive thing's to say about the fried chicken!

Coqodaq, founded by the masterminds behind Cote, presents a tantalizing twist on fried chicken in the heart of NYC. From the moment you step inside, the sleek ambiance and aroma of sizzling chicken promise a memorable dining experience. I recently visited with friends and savored their renowned chicken. However, while the food exceeded expectations, some diners have noted occasional inconsistencies in portion sizes and wait times during peak hours. Nonetheless, Coqodaq stands as a beacon for fried chicken aficionados, offering a delightful fusion of flavors and a chic atmosphere that keeps guests coming back for more

Had a wonderful experience here on girls night out!! Atmosphere felt like modern chic ver. of roaring 20s. We sat at the bar for dinner and some much needed champagne Really beautiful bar layout, nice sturdy bar seats and good table space for eating. Attentive service and the staff was very present. We had the 24c golden nuggets - this was a great starter bite and they didnt skimp out on caviar. We had the Bucket List which comes in like a partyyy. Starts w the roasted chicken consomme, a hot ginseng chicken soup shot(?) was a nice touch bringing in korean authentic flavors. Warms your core this one. Best thing is that we got to try all the fried chicken flavors: original, soy sauce garlic and gochujang. Loved them all. Full of favors - fulfilling those flavors we crave when we think korean fried chicken and also intro to a new flavor w the gochujang. Chicken was perfectly cooked, juicy tender on the inside and crunchy on the out. Also loved making different combos w the four sauces and banchans. Coqodaq does an amazing job here letting us create that fun experience ourselves ***while enjoying champagne! The added sides tteokbokki and coleslaw was also a plus. After the chicken feast, cold perilla seed noodle introduced amazing rich savoy flavors i havnt had before. What a treat!!

Ridiculously exorbitant prices for Korean fried chicken in a trendy environment does not warrant steak prices for just that... fried chicken. And in this price range is just obnoxious. Adding caviar to chicken nuggets, is as dumb as adding gold flakes to steak or on your ice cream sundae. Nothing more than a cash grab for something that you can pay significantly less for. At the end of the day it's fried chicken, don't get it confused for a luxury dish, no matter the amount of Thomas Keller part ownership name dropping involved.

I absolutely love Cote and would love to go back again, but Coqodaq is a place I'd probably only go once for. We got the Bucket List, which is definitely enough food per person, even though they suggest to get other sides too. I like the concept of the different courses, and honestly did enjoy every part. Pros: - the 4 different sauces - unlimited side dishes / salad - the chicken was really juicy and crispy - the consommé, noodles, and frozen yogurt were all solid Cons: - the chicken nuggets had a gamey flavor I didn't really like - the soy garlic chicken was way too sweet - the music is super loud so it's hard to hear the people you're with - the different servers kept checking in on us super often, and while I appreciate attentive service, but it was seriously like a different person every 5 mins Overall, it's worth a try once, and the experience did feel very elevated, but I wouldn't wait in a line for this. It's definitely not the best Korean fried chicken in New York, so don't come here expecting that.

It was...fine? The chicken was too breaded and lacking in flavor compared to other Korean Fried Chicken places but the ambiance of the restaurant itself is great. Really beautiful inside and definitely scene-y. It's very loud inside so you might have to yell at each other especially if you're seated at one of the wrap around booths. Service was excellent and we even passed along feedback about the breading to one of the chefs. That being said, it's a fried chicken restaurant and the stuff accompanying the chicken was better than the chicken itself which is a bit of a shame.

Place is great and service is top notch. However it all comes down to the $40 per person chicken, for which getting a reservation since they've opened is almost close to impossible, at least for now. While the chicken is very well cooked and had a very good, crispy breading that was not oily, ultimately it's taste is extremely bland for fried chicken. The nuggets are not good on any front.Having been elsewhere in the country like Willie Maes in NOLA, Prices Chicken Coop in Charlotte, even others here in NY; all those taste 5x better. The side sauces for the "original" recipe are also bland, and the 2 additional flavors that you can order for the second half of the chicken bucket are just ok (soy glaze is a bit better than the spicy one which has no kick at all). Overall, no matter what, the food just tasted simple and lacked flavor. Even the chicken broth at the begining tasted closer to water than broth. The ice cream at the end was the one thing that was very good.Is this a fried chicken worth dipping in gold, covering in caviar or eating with champagne?(all of which you can do here) If any of that is something you would consider doing with fried chicken, then probably this is the chicken for you. If you really know fried chicken though, I'm sure you'll be fine by skipping this one.

We recently were able to ‘experience’ COQODAQ on Saturday evening in celebration of our friend’s birthday. We arrived 30 minutes early in hopes of possibly grabbing a drink at the bar, but were instead greeted by a line that stretched all the way down the block. We proceeded to wait in this line for a half an hour, while a second line started to stretch down the opposite direction of the block. There was no staff directing the line, and there is no differentiation within the line for people with reservations versus those that do not. I repeat, you are waiting in line with those who do not have reservations, in our case - in the pouring rain. There are also NO staff members directing the guests or regulating the line. (Think Lord of the Flies or Broadway Chorus Call- chaos and line-cutters)Around the time our reservation was to begin, we finally reached the host desk, to be cut off by a gentleman that felt that he was more important than the two lines that were generated, and proceeded to take the attention of all staff members at the front desk asking his questions. Since our entire party was completely soaked through the bottom half of our wardrobes, embarrassed by their line experience, and generally pissed- we tried to explain to the young Maitre D that the gentleman was being disrespectful to those of us waiting. We were patronized with a dramatic “Don’t worry everybody! We are all here now! We are all going to eat tonight! Everybody calm down.”The reason we weren’t calm was because of the reservation policies pushing this unpleasant experience onto the guests, and lack of a stanchion or rope suggesting which direction of the block the line was supposed to choke off entrances from the rest of the businesses and residences on the block. To be “tolerated” with our disappointment and greeted in such a manner unfortunately created quite the “hole” for the FOH staff to crawl out from. Usually the entitlement is on the guest side of the table- not when it comes to THIS host stand. The food was great, service was great too- I haven’t seen that many staff on the floor of any place recently since New Years and service reflected this. The Somms, our waitress Christy, and the Jamaican Food Runner who brought the delicious sauces were memorable. The sauces with the Bucket menu were great, Mac and cheese was ok, the chicken itself was fluffy yet crunchy- allowed me to crush a bunch of them between the OG and the glazed. Noodle pallet cleanser wasn’t for me, but the girls liked it along with their additional Fish (cod) and chips.Dessert was a soft serve Greek yogurt with berry puree. That’s the only choice. Our bday guest didn’t eat Greek Yogurt. No other options- easy way to get a group out quickly. We asked to take our time and we were able to stretch the experience to 1.5 hours. Clothes and shoes still wet from waiting in the rain. There is no coat check, or at least none was mentioned to us. Missed opportunity there.A great General Manager once always reminded his staff every day before service- “Good food is the price of admission for NYC. You aren’t unique by offering this. It is HOW each PERSON within the restaurant provides the experience of hospitality while the guests dine- that makes ALL the difference, and creates repeat diners.”Wishing this place well, but also that it’s leadership realizes that despite its current popularity, a restaurant’s long term endurance and growth in NYC depend on more than IG, TikTok, and what’s on the menu. It starts at the front (and even before that with available reservations that are ‘honored’ when entering the establishment).

TLDR: Best fried chicken korean style in NYC! Definitely try the set menu for a chicken and wonderful side dish experience. The reservations are hard to come by but the experience is totally worth it at its price.

Is COQODAQ Worth the Hype? Short Answer: Yes, But...The buzz around this place is deafening. Is it justified? Well, the food absolutely lives up to the hype. However, the novelty (and price tag) might make it a special occasion place rather than a regular haunt.Reservations? Good Luck. This is the hottest spot in NYC right now. If you don't have a reservation in advance, forget it – unless you're willing to queue up before opening for a walk-in spot. The ExperienceWe snagged a booth for six – prime location! The oysters were incredibly fresh, and the Golden Nuggets 24k were one of those things you splurge on.The Bucket List's fried chicken was some of the best we've ever had. Flavorful, juicy, with perfect crispness. The sides? Hit and miss. Consomme, coleslaw, and fries were great, but the mac and cheese was disappointing – tasted boxed. The drinks were strong and well-crafted – standouts were the famous egg drink, mezcal mule, and a few Palomas.VerdictWe loved it! But at $100+ (800 bill for 6) for fried chicken, it's not an everyday spot. If you're craving a special night out with fantastic food (and can snag a reservation), it's worth the splurge.

Elite “fried chicken”?Incredibly mid experience, chicken was ok at best (I’d honestly prefer McDonald’s chicken nuggets to this) the soy flavor ended up being too salty// the other side dishes were questionable as well…The only thing I truly enjoyed was the chicken pate.Would not come back unless they changed how they fry the chicken

The restaurant was good but nothing was amazing out of this world. It's the type of place you go once for the experience and don't really go to again, especially with how hard it is to make a reservation. The chicken was very good and moist, the tartare and oysters were delicious too, and the side dishes were tasty. On the negative side - we went there on a Wednesday night and it was very loud. Basically you cannot hear what other people at your table are saying.

After work, this hit so well--amazing vibes, food, and a great cocktail program-- I mean, the sauces, the fried chicken, and the champagne just hit!
