Another update: “Director of Ops” responded to my email and said: “I will note that I think demanding an apology from a specific person, who was not present, isn't necessary here. Steven has spoken to the staff members, and we have addressed what went wrong in the situation.”

What a joke of a place… can’t even apologize to someone who was on track to spend more than $5k a year here. There’s literally 2 additional reviews talking about how rude your employees are just since my review less than 2 weeks ago

Update: Called to complain as well, spoke to the director of Ops. I was told that the manager is out of town and was offered a gift card. This is nice and all but I don’t want to be bought as I’m a loyal customer and just want to be treated with respect. Long story short, I have gotten no call from the manager or any apologies for how I was treated and laughed at. I have emailed the Director of Ops a handful times to tell him that I got no call or apology from the store. I was told “as I said he’s out of town.” I followed back up again, to now to be just given excuses about how “some people can have a bad day and they were busy that day. This wasn’t even true.. When I mentioned no one called me back still, my emails now go ignored… great way to treat your customers.

A disgraceful place. I’m a loyal customer who comes in every single day for lunch. After coming everyday, I oddly had one of the managers tell me what they have to start charging me $1 for extra cheese. (I know this was probably relayed down from above him, so it’s nothing against him as he’s nice.) This was just really weird after someone never misses a day of lunch here. I’m leaving review now because the workers there are extremely rude and disrespectful. Every time I come the workers literally 0 personality to customers, have such an attitude, and chat among themselves while they should be working. Today, I waited for my sandwich for over 15 minutes and it didn’t come out. I noticed that others were getting their food before me, so I asked the rude, no personality lady at the front for how long my sandwich will be in a nice way. She proceeds to say with such an attitude, “I don’t know.” She didn’t even try and check either. I then asked her can you see how long and she says again with such an attitude and basically rolling her eyes “I don’t know, we had a very busy day.” I then tell her I want a refund and she ignores me. Another guy comes over to tell me I’m next, and I told him forget it I want a refund and you lost a loyal customer. They all know me too and that I come in every single day. I then asked him if he’s a manager, he said no. While I’m asking him, the rude woman looks back at this other rude guy and woman that are wrapping and preparing the sandwiches, and all literally start laughing at me…. Not surprised based on their typical attitude, but extremely odd that they think this is normal and okay to do. No apologies just rude for no reason. To add on to this, the rude man who was laughing, was wrapping up sandwiches a few weeks ago, while he was eating a full blown sandwich with gloves on… not even joking about this… disgusting…. Learn how to treat your customers better. Never will be back

Sandwiches are good. The people working here seem miserable unfortunately. Been here a couple times and it’s the same cranky exasperated vibe each time.

Tbh? They’re mean here. I felt like a middle schooler who wasn’t invited to the cool kids’ lunch table. Sandwiches are alright but hardly worth the $20 price tag. Check out Panineria instead

Broccoli Reuben was delicious - crunchy oiled toast with sauerkraut and broccoli - thoroughly enjoyed the healthy alternative to the red meat version. Counter and table seating was just enough and the staff was super friendly and attentive. Next time I want to try the Ultimate Warrior.

The best sandwiches and equally as important the BEST staff. Always kind, respectful, and welcoming they make feel like I’m simply floating on air as they prepare my daily sandwich with all the tender love and care that my late grandmother put into her famous beef stroganoff. Today I got their veg-Italian (they are so accommodating to my vegetarian nature!) anyway, they made my tastebuds simply sing. I wish I could give this beautiful establishment SIX stars. But the internet won’t let me. Curse you google! I heard they do catering and I’m considering theming my yearly Friendsgiving event to Court Street Grocers! Imagine all clean turkey sandwiches instead of a regular turkey! Isn’t that a splendid idea?! (I’d have one of their many vegetarian options of courses because as I mentioned, I am a vegetarian. I have been since middle school after we watched that documentary.) Let me say one more time for good measure, that every person employed there is deserving of a Pulitzer Prize for customer service and food preparation. I love you Court Street Grocers. See you again tomorrow!

Best sandwich in new york. The staff are friendly, too.

Classic sandwiches upgraded to another level. It's amazing what a few simple modifications can do. The more NYC gets expensive, the harder it becomes to find places like this. Great friendly service.

The tuna sandwich was sour, with raspberries when I didn’t ask it to be sweet. Spoiled and not fresh
The packaging looked nice but not the food.

Have been a few times and gotten different sandwiches each time. Each was delicious and worth ordering again. I'll avoid going during meal times – it gets real busy.

Easily one of my favorite sandwich shops in the city. Wish I lived closer since I'd be here once a week. Everything I've had has been tasty, so you really can't go wrong. The American Combo is a good place to start for first timers. Look forward to trying some other menu items.

Cute sandwich shop near Washington Square Park. Enjoyed the Vegetarian Combo, Court Street’s vegetarian play on an Italian Sub.

Overall it was good & I did not miss the meat!I The full sandwich was HUGE (& expensive), but split with a family member, which was plenty.
