Don't sleep on this restaurant in Chelsea Market! The drinks were delish! We had the Clam Chowder and the Burrata Salad as appetizers and both were fabulous. The person I was with is a clam chowder snob and he said this was the best he ever had. We had the warm lobster rolls for our entree...delicious!

I was looking forward to visiting Cull & Pistol since it is ranking so high on the NY raw bar list. Overall it was a good experience but I can't give it five stars for two reasons: the oyster selection was too centered on the NY, NJ region. The 'dukes' from NC were the only interesting finds but there is so much more you can source from, VA, NC, SC, ME or RI. The second reason is the market fish had way too much salt. I will probably be back but I'll first call for the daily oyster selection.

We had the restaurant week special menu which was a real bargain at $45 for 3 courses. The burrata salad was incredibly fresh and tasty with sweet melon and delicious tomatoes. We also had the fried oyster "pistols on horseback" appetizer and it was crunchy and flavorful. The octopus main course was incredible. We really loved the butter beans served with it. We had a lobster roll for an additional $15 and it was pretty small. Think we would have been better off ordering the fish or pasta. We had a bottle of white wine which was only $52 and there were quite a few options for $60. All in all, we had an incredible, inexpensive meal at Cull and Pistol. Would highly recommend.

The food was excelllent. I had the tile fish, clam chowder and dessert on th restaurant week menu. The salad also looked delicious. It's a small restaurant and the tables are close together with the bar. The noise level was very high because of a group at the bar. When they left it was more acceptable but still loud. Not good for an intimate dinner.

They have a wonderful selection of oysters - the list comes with tasting notes so you can figure out which you prefer. The cooked oysters are also delicious! Fantastic service and vibe. I highly recommend!

You'd think that a place like this, attached to a fish market and boasting an extensive raw bar, might skimp on inventiveness and precision in the kitchen. But our experience on repeat visits has been that every dish is worth ordering. This time, even a simple side of sauteed pea shoots was special, the bright green flavor concentrated and accented by toasted almonds & raisins. The diced tuna on crispy rice cakes was delectable, the octopus in a Spanish-y white bean stew hearty & tender. One friend who never finishes her food polished off her fat, fresh lobster roll in in minutes. And yeah, you can get a platter of perfect oysters, if you want. The servers are always friendly & efficient. A hidden gem.

Meh— for the price, I expected top quality seafood and every dish was just okay. Nothing bad, but nothing to write home about either. Wouldn't return, personally— there is better seafood in the city.

What a treat! The food was excellent - the oysters were fresh, tasty and they had a nice variety of them. The lobster rolls were to die for and a great value compared to most anywhere else. Ashland and his entire team were so great working with us to accommodate a large party. Everyone enjoyed the food and the terrific service and attention. Thank you, Cull and Pistol!!
