I’ve eaten at a lot of restaurants — including some of the highest-rated steakhouses in the country — but I have never experienced a disaster like CUT NYC.
We were a party of 10 — 4 adults and 6 kids — and somehow every single thing that hit the table was cold. Not warm. Not room-temperature. Cold. Appetizers? Cold. Sides? Cold. Even the steak — the one thing they’re supposedly known for — was under-seasoned, dull, and absolutely freezing by the time it arrived.
For $1,300, I’d expect at least edible food. Instead, we got food that tasted like it had been left out backstage while someone decided whether or not to serve it. It was honestly insulting.
The service didn’t help either. Slow. Disconnected. Zero urgency, zero hospitality. It felt like they couldn’t care less that we were there.
The kids barely touched anything. The adults forced down a few bites just to avoid starving. And then — this is the embarrassing part — we left and bought HOT DOGS because we were all still hungry. Imagine walking out of a “high-end” steakhouse to eat street-cart food just so the night isn’t a total loss.
CUT NYC might have the branding, the hype, and the price tag —
but the only thing they’re actually serving is disappointment.
Save your money. Go literally anywhere else. At least there, your steak might actually be hot.

Had an excellent meal at CUT. The steak was cooked perfectly—tender, flavorful, and worth the hype. The mashed potatoes were incredibly creamy and delicious. Great service and a classy atmosphere made the whole experience even better. Highly recommend for a top-tier steak dinner

We had lunch for a meet up with a few friends. The porterhouse was amazing. They cut the piece in front of you and meat is tender and juicy. I like the peppercorn sauce a lot. Will definitely come back again with my families.

The recent renovations are very subtle to the point you have to ask what they did! The food and service remains impeccable even if it is silly and cheap to not have free refills for icetea. Lunch is quieter and try their salads.

One of the best dining experiences in the city. The Tomahawk steak was phenomenal, but don’t skip the seafood, the oysters and octopus were standouts. Cocktails are fantastic, and the wine list is huge. Service is top-notch, attentive from start to finish, and the ambiance manages to be elegant and lively at the same time. Expect to spend $200–250 per person including tip if you go all in, and honestly, it’s worth every dollar. Highly recommend for groups or a special night out.
