I originally made a reservation for 12 people 3 weeks ahead of time. We were all super excited. I was told 2.5 hrs ahead of time that apparently the restaurant has ran out of food. It was hard to find another restaurant so last minute to accommodate a large table. I was encouraged by them to reschedule another reservation and compensation for a bottle of wine.I did just that. I rescheduled the reservation for only four people. The reservation was confirmed.I showed up with my party and the restaurant was CLOSED till March 20th. I understand restaurants being closed from time to time. However, I don’t understand why they confirmed my reservation or allow third party apps to allow reservations?I’m not going to try the third time and recommend all to call the restaurant before going to ensure you have food and a table.

This new Lower East Side restaurant is empty for a reason. Upon scouring the Tompkins Square area for a place to eat, my boyfriend and I noticed this restaurant but did not see a menu to see what they offered. We were explained by the only employee there that the menu was on a QR code we could scan inside. Upon entering and scanning the QR code, the employee immediately asked us if we were ready to order, to which we replied no.We sat down to read the menu further and were asked again if we were ready to order. My boyfriend needed to use the restroom for over an hour now, and all the public restrooms he had gone to were closed, so he used the restroom before we made our decision.Shockingly(or not so shockingly) while my boyfriend was using the restroom the employee came up to me again asking if I was ready to order, when we were clearly a table of two. At this point, I felt a complete psycho energy from the man working there and wanted to leave. Not even five minutes had passed since we entered the establishment and we had already been pressured so many times to order. When he came back we were asked again if we were ready to order and we had decided we were uninterested in their selection of pasta and pizza, but when we tried to leave the employee put his hand in my boyfriends face and said "So you're just going to use the bathroom and go?" As though he was entitled to us dining at his establishment.Mind you we hadn't even been poured water yet, as we were still undecided on the place, this all unfolding in around 5-10 minutes of entering the restaurant. At this point I genuinely felt like the man working here was about to lock the doors and force us to dine in. Not a single long-lasting restaurant in this area is as inexplicably rude and pushy to possible customers. My boyfriend nearly caved into being pressured to eat here but I told this man in response that "We decided we weren't interested in eating here but your behavior is making sure I never will be, nor will I ever recommend it to anyone I know. "Luckily we were not coerced by their psycho employee to dine there as my parents described their bruschetta as "canned tuna on stale bread", my father also lamenting on the lack of a menu.Though I understand the whole "bathroom is for customers only" policy has become increasingly popular in this neighborhood, I can only wish you the best of luck with your fusion restaurant going forward if you continue to be rude to locals.

We ve been meaning to write this review for ages. Stumbled upon this absolute gem. The owner is fantastic and his food reflects it. Delicious for meat lovers and vegetarians. My partner always gets milanesa napolitana and I get the veggie bake. Absolutely delicious. If you get lucky to get a night with sangria- order the whole pitcher, you will regret just getting a glass. Oh and the desert, omg. I forget what the name is but ask them which is the best one and they will tell you. Get it. We went on a summer night and for valentines night. Perfect both times. We ll be back soon!

Had a nice pumpkin soup and glass of wine at the front. Service was quick. They had an online ordering system that was a bit annoying since my service was iffy. They also have a pretty good lunch deal empanadas and a glass of wine for like $15.

I've walked by here a million times and have always reminded myself to come. Thankfully, my friend and I decided to come one quiet Tuesday evening. It was a slow night. The service was really friendly. The place is small, intimate and cozy with great historical photographs hanging on the walls. I also felt super comfortable sitting on the blue chair. When you check in, you get a glass of the house Malbec for free! They even gave us a free amuse bouche of hummus on small pieces of toasts. We split the caprese bruschetta, which tasted very fresh. I got the fried chicken with a side of salad. The chicken was amazing with fresh tomatoes and cheese on top. The dressing on the salad was a touch too sour for my liking. My friend got the pesto gnocchi which was softer than I expected. The tiramisu was good too but the base tasted more like cream cheese than mascarpone. Given the ambiance, and the diverse food and wine menu and the nice service, I would come again!

The food, the atmosphere, and the service by Rubin is unparalleled in this crazy city. It’s hard to find kindness and hospitality like this, let alone Rubin’s expertise in Malbec.A hidden gem, get in before it gets its Michelin stars.

We went to lunch today, the waiter was very very nice to us, the location is small but very clean. Few things - it's a bit too dark inside, the AC was too cold (we both put our jackets on), my gnocchi had the flavor going on - but the texture was a bit too soft.. more like a puree, lacking 'bite'.. I personally don't like it too soft. My partner asked for chicken with mushrooms, and later on we discovered with received a veal with mushrooms. Few things to work on, but got potential.

Very nice restaurant, Ruben made us feel at home. The menu is full of options with an interesting mix of Argentina, Chile and Italy. I recommend the meat empanadas and the milanesas. The prices are good, we will definitely come back for an aperitif with a nice glass of Malbec.
