We've been going to DB Tavern for years and always had an excellent time. Last year, we tried the Porterhouse Steak for 2 and it was excellent. This past weekend we ordered it again, medium rare. Unfortunately, it was on the dry side with no discernable juices on the slices of meat, as was the case last year. For $165, it needs to be perfect. The onion rings and 2 sides were very good, as were the cocktails. They have an excellent Happy Hour. The service was also very friendly...
First time there for happy hour. Nice dining experience. On our way to a theatre and wanted a quick bite. We were pleasantly surprised at how good the food and setting was. My wife had the seafood salad and hasn't stopped raving about it. My fish and chips were terrific. We will return and try out the main dining room. Nice job all around.
Upstairs dining room was relatively quiet, but it is late August in NYC. The bar downstairs was hopping at 6:00. Food was excellent as was the service. Extended Restaurant Week menu offered a good bargain, although dinner for 2 with a tip was still $250. 3 glasses of wine and a cocktail will do that.
