This spot is worth visiting. They have large portions for convenient rates. Consistently neat and with fantastic atmosphere. Will come back again.
The place serves big dishes and for fair pricing. nice staff members. Will visit again.
We had a great time in this place. We enjoyed the nice atmosphere and the food. The staff members were super amiable. I am glad we finally managed to try this place.
This place is certainly one of the most pleasant place in the area. Every time I visit this place I am incredibly pleased. They maintain their very high standard service and the highest level of food they provide. You are always happy with this restaurant. Very recommended.
I meet friends in this great spot quite a bit! This is my favorite spot to have a bite. I go there routinely. The meals are very good, the crew is welcoming and the payment is fair. I like meeting in this place over a nice lunch.
I have been going here for years and Dawat never disappoints. It is a lovely place tucked away on East 58th Street near 3rd Avenue with very polite and attentive staff. It is sparklingly clean. The decor is simple and tasteful and they have a full bar. Traditional haute Indian cuisine is featured and the food is always delicious and fresh. Some personal favorites are the potato cakes appetizer, tandoori chicken and poori bread. For dessert the rice pudding with slivered almonds is delicious. I highly recommend this very charming restaurant.
The food is delicious, the wait is not as fun. Everything seems to be moving so slow, but that might just be my impatient personality, especially when I'm hungry.
Dawat is in transition. The wait staff is all new and the bar was closed with no liquor license yet. Flowers on the table were dead. The food was the same as always and the menu was the same as it has been for years, which is good. So it is not as if it is a brand new restaurant, just a new staff who need to work out some kinks. Hopefully it soon will be back to the 5-star status we were used to over the years.
Possibly the best Indian food I have tasted from all around the world. So tasty, service was excellent and very attentive. Not the cheapest menu (going for a curry in the UK is often looked at as a cheaper option) but we were looking for good food and nice restaurant which is exactly what we got - the lamb chops were to die for.
I booked this place based on the online rating. We walked in the place, sat down for 20-25 mins ... they guy comes to take order for food ... we were like no one has come to the table for a drink order ... he dropped out of the sky and said okay .. I will take the drink order then... we ordered this non veg platter with was $34 and came with a dal that had no salt or taste and a naan or two and a tiny portion of meat. Nothing we ordered was good ... I would not waste my money at this restaurant again ... the don't even deserve one star. Horrible experience overall

This was our second visit to this incredible establishment. This restaurant has us looking at Indian food in a new way. Dishes are prepared with the best ingredients and the taste sensation is wonderful. In our younger days we enjoyed Indian restaurants with buffets and through this we started to learn about the different dishes and preparation . But alas Dawat kicks the whole ingredients and taste to the next level. Everything burst with flavor and freshness. This establishment made Indian food a whole new experience for us.
The service was great. Food was okay. But there were nothing special.
Service was horrendous. Slow except when removing plates with food still upon them. Shabby, too many diners seated in one area, will never return.
As usual we had a great time, delicious food, very good service, and a very nice atmosphere. The lamb chops were outstanding as well as the mushroom naan and the spicy corn. Try the okra, one of the best that I have had!
Great environment and super friendly service. The food was crisp and yummy. Will absolutely recommend this spot to anyone. Affordable prices and generous portions. Great work.
