Something is off - the food textures are odd (Jello in the tomato salad???), too much foam on a Some Like it Hot cocktail, a chicken “dumpling” that is more like a nibble at best, and a surly waitress to wash it all down. Nice vibes inside but wasn’t impressed, won’t be back…

I've never been to a more welcoming bar where the owners go out of their way to welcome you.
That being said, the drinks are smashable and food is exquisite.

Grabbed a drink here recently after my partners birthday and had an amazing time! Truly was a warm and welcoming vibe and I felt like I could’ve stayed forever. I had a vodka martini with a twist that was absolutely delicious and my friends drinks were also so good. The bartender let my partner try a couple of different tequilas until they found find the right option for their drink. I would 100% come back and would recommended anyone coming here for a fun and welcoming vibe.

Amazing every time. One of my favorite new additions to our NYC restaurant rotation. Awesome drinks, incredible food, attentive and friendly staff. We’ve been to Dear Strangers a bunch — maybe 8-10 times since they’ve opened — and they’ve never missed. Date night, group dinners, late night drinks and a snack (late night burger is great)… you really can’t go wrong.

Was visiting New York for a couple of days and my friend told me about this new place that opened. I was amazed with their dishes. You can tell there’s so much love they invested that we also had a couple of drinks at the bar and the bartenders are very friendly and nice. Definitely looking forward to go there again.

Every cocktail I tried was unique, with fresh ingredients. the food is just as impressive and delicious, thoughtful, and way beyond what you’d expect from a cocktail bar. What really makes this spot shine, though, is the staff. They’re attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about what they’re serving. You never feel rushed, and their recommendations are always spot-on. It’s the kind of place where you can come for a fun night out, a date, or just to unwind with friends, and it always feels special. This is my go to place in the village because it’s always a five-star experience in every way!

The team at Dear Strangers are amazing. The venue is BEAUTIFUL and just slightly off the beaten path. Here is a venue where you don’t have to wait 2 hours to get the real West Village experience. Amazing decor- beautiful design, masterful cocktails and such a delicious menu. The team behind this restaurant are former Employees Only veteran bartenders so you know you are getting the best of the best.
Even though that was a huge highlight what I really loved was the menu. Im admittedly a bit picky- I eat fresh, clean and quality is the main aspect of what I look for in food. This restaurant offers multiple small dishes that are crudo or ceviche style fresh fish with incredibly satisfying combinations. To boot dessert was out of this world.
I came with my boyfriend and had a wild night, then brought my parents the following weekend for an easy, no fuss exceptional experience. They owners and staff made my parents so comfortable even though as tourists they were kind of fish out of water.
I feel so lucky I stumbled on this place, just south of Washington Square park in my way to the village- I knew without a reservation Id be waiting an hour for a table anywhere. We stopped for a cocktail and stayed for hours!

From the personalized menus to the signature cocktails and phenomenal food, the staff and Ivan went above and beyond to make it a special night for all our friends & family! Cannot recommend this more as an intimate date night or night out with friends in the heart of West Village!
