Rip off!!! I have worked nearby & have stopped for a bacon egg & cheese often for the past 10 years often. Today they changed me $8.79! I asked when it became this price and the rude female cashier just looked at me and POINTED at the machine for me to pay. Never going back! You can get much better food right next door at Mangia for that price.

Food pretty good but chaos and you have to fight to get served. Staff have poor attitude. Guess it’s a captive market and they don’t care.

We have ordered from this Deli for 20 + years and never had an issue until they hired an incompetent, rude, front person. Customer service does not exist in this Deli. We tried to resolve an issue over the phone with a wrong order, and were hung up on. The manager isn't any better, told me that he will not deliver anymore. There is obviously a communication problem that they will not fix. So beware, you will not receive a club sandwich, but instead a Reuben!

RIPOFF! I used to go here a couple times a week for an Italian sub. $12.50 is high, but pretty much par for the course in the city. But they just raised their price to $14!! I’m sorry but $14 for a sandwich is ridiculous. Oh and the cashiers are usually not very nice.

Absolutely bad experience! Not only that the cashier cannot say hello and please underpay the change. Coffee costs 2.75, but I took three bucks, I don’t feel sorry for these coins at all, but you can at least explain that there is no change. The coffee itself without napkins or wrappers walked and burned hands. I will not come here again and I do not advise you.

I Ordered a plain roll with butter not toasted. The cashier had a slight attitude. They charged me $2.75. When I questioned it she stated it is $2.50 plus tax. I was so confused as a toasted bagel with butter is only $1.75. This does not make sense. This was my 1st and last time in this location. I already informed my co-workers that they charge what they want without reason.

Best chicken cutlet in midtown. Order the "plaza garden" with a fire cutlet (not that spicy). Solid portion size and reasonably priced. (Hero was $10.99). Only knock is ambience and decor could use an upgrade.

A year or two ago, I would have given Deli on Madison 5 stars. However, recently the prices went up, quality went down, the service is less friendly and now they charge $1 extra for lettuce and tomato on sandwiches.

This place is fast. At breakfast, a line of cooks stand behind the counters waiting to take orders. Once given, they move with a speed and efficiency that would make Henry Ford blush. In mere moments, you can walk out with your breakfast paid for and in-hand. It is a sight--really, a blur--to behold. The food itself though...well, tastes like it was made in a hurry. Your breakfast is "assembled" more than "cooked" to order. I had a classic BEC with hot sauce. The roll was soft and the eggs were fine, but the cheese is not cooked onto the eggs. A slice is simply placed on top of the already prepared egg. The bacon was underwhelming--overcooked and crumbly to the point that it might have just been bacon bits, not actual slices. Still, this is midtown, breakfast is breakfast, and I will certainly be back here for it.
