Steakhouse opened 1837. You can feel the history while dining here.
You have to get the DelMonico steak and it's large enough to share. Don't forget the baked Alaska, another item originated here.

Historic venue that lives up to its reputation. Food that was as beautifully plated as it was to taste. Service was attentive but not intrusive. Great time!

A quintessential steakhouse, NYC staple and one of the city’s oldest long-standing restaurants for a reason. The dining experience feels great, with a well-rounded and carefully crafted menu. Some classics have not changed in several decades and do not need to because the food is delicious. Simple, quality ingredients help piece up a full meal that takes you from homemade maple glazed bacon to an eponymous chuck eye cut with asparagus and hash browns, finishing with a spectacular baked alaska invented in house over 150 years ago! The atmosphere feels both busy and calm, with some sort of mystic, settled ambiance. Cocktails are worth a try, and the wine list offers a large selection to satisfy everyone’s preferences.

I got the Delmonico steak. I got it medium on a recommendation. I should've done medium well just because that's usually how I get my steak. It was good but it wasn't a steak I would say was better than other steaks I've had at my local restaurants. I would go back and try a different steak if we were in NY again.

Review of the Restaurant week dinner. The meat was good, well seasoned and well cooked but literally look at that

Simply stupendous. One of the best steakhouses I’ve ever been to. If you are a fan of quality steak it would be a crime to never visit this establishment.

The best steakhouse in NYC. Skip overrated and grossly overpriced Peter Luger. Delmonicos blows PL out of the water. This place, the food, the service, the history…. Simply incredible.

Underwhelming
The food was not flavorful at all, the ambience lacked luster. There was no background music for the first 20mins , lighting is a bit bright for a steakhouse . Disappointed
