My family and I visited with great anticipation because of their reputation as a top steakhouse. We were not disappointed and not only was the steak delicious but the service was very high end. Always topping up our water, wiping crumbs from table cloth and covering messes with additional cloths, all without getting in the way of our family conversation. We really enjoyed our dinner there and the food was to the moon.
This was the first time I had the opportunity to eat at this iconic restaurant. My expectations for the food and experience were beyond met. This goes down as one of the best steakhouse experiences I've ever had. This is a must try if you're ever in New York City and love traditional steakhouses.
Excellent in all categories. What a classic steak house should be. Will most definitely be back for more. Thank you!
Nice staff. Beautiful historic restaurant. Main thing , great steak !!
PS. I did a review they e mailed me and it shows me giving 4 stars. Mistake wherever that is. It’s 5 stars
Probabilmente un mio limite, ma non ho apprezzato il doppio prezzo (cash/carta di credito). Se è un'abitudine statunitense non la trovo piacevole.
We wanted to try a steak house restaurant so me and my cousin looked at a few and decided on Delmonico's. When we walked in it was clean and very fancy and sophisticated looking. We had reservations and it wasn't busy.....we started with the bread which was warm and soft with creamy butter. We then got thick cut maple bacon which is a MUST....this is something I never knew I needed. We ordered a 10 oz steak each and mashed potatoes puree as a side and I got the beef jus to put on top. Honestly one of the best and tender steaks I've ever had. The potatoes were on point. The service was top tier and other restaurants should take a lesson on how service should be done, friendly and efficient. This spot is a top choice if you are in New York
Finally — a steakhouse in NYC that gets it right. Perfectly cooked, beautifully seared, and properly seasoned steaks. And no salt and pepper on the table, for good reason: you won’t need it!
The regular signature cut, wet-aged, is more tender than what you’ll get at Morton’s; cut with butter knife. Both sides had that flawless, crusty black sear most steakhouses fail to deliver on.
The lobster, unfortunately, was a huge miss — chalky texture and a fishy taste; just not fresh. Skip it. Stick with the steak and you’ll leave happy.
The roasted chicken was surprisingly excellent: moist, well-seasoned, and far from the afterthought it usually is at steakhouses.
The Caesar salad was solid, though it still doesn’t dethrone the one at Iron Gate in Belmont, CA. Golden Steer in Las Vegas comes close, but nothing has topped that Caesar yet.
If you're coming here, stick to what they do best: Steak. You won’t regret it!
P.S. delicious, creamy butter for bread.
Excellent !! I highly recommend it. We tried few dishes and they were all tasty. The STAR was the Porter House and Ribeye. Salads were delicious and the side dishes as well. Wine selection was just huge for different tastes and budgets. Service was friendly and very professional. The ambiance is just great with beautiful decorations and acceptable noise level which give a nice energy to the place .
We enjoyed our evening at Delmonico's. The food was superb and the service was excellent. I don’t remember when I last had a steak this good 😊
I’ve been living in NYC for 3 years, tried many great restaurants, and Delmonico’s has simply been the best.

For my first time at Delmonico’s, this was a memorable dining experience.
From the incredible dining room ambiance, excellent table service and quality of the food no one should ever say that NYC Fine Dining is dead. Far from it here, it was a silver service table experience on a busy , busy Fathers Day dinner service, The host ( with the red dress) was calm admist a busy front of house and we were seated within 10 minutes of our reservation!
My son and I shared the 22oz Rib Eye Bone in , one order of fries while my wife had the shrimp cocktail and order of Brussel sprouts! Everything was excellent even the bread and delicious soft spread butter ! The steak was perfectly cooked and was more than enough for us to have a satisfying meal!
For dessert we ordered the chocolate mousse and ice cream which was a perfect way to end the night.
For sure, I will be back and look forward to having an excellent experience!
The service was cordial. The food was good. The decor was beautiful. The history of the restaurant and the location is amazing. The drinks and food is overpriced.
Excellent in all aspects and a superb dining experience! Service was excellent! The staff was attentive but not intrusive. Special requests were attended to. We were not rushed as we dined for over two hours. We were able to carry on a normal conversation without raising our voices. The steaks were perfectly cooked.
Visiting Delmonico's for the signature ribeye was going to be a highlight of our visit to NYC. We chose Delmonico's over some of the other famous NYC steakhouses after reading and watching reviews online. Unfortunately, while the service was very good and the steak itself was very tender, high quality, and perfectly cooked (medium rare), the flavor was really mild and not as tasty as expected. We actually had to request some salt for the steak to increase the flavor. So the experience was somewhat of a let down and didn't compare to some of our favorite steakhouses in Texas.
A very nice experience. The steak is great and the sides are amazing. Worth it for a special occasion!
