I have been coming to Devins for years the owner is a amazing person I just think she needs to be in her restaurant more the older lady is extremely rude she used to be nice I was there last week the shrimp were small the fish was hard like it was sitting there she never says thank you anymore she didn’t give me any bread for a fish sandwich I’m extremely disappointed I spend a lot of money I grew up in devinsi don’t think the cook understands the culture of fish and chips and the black American culture she didn’t even allow me to check my food

No rating on the door for months . The food is good when you’re ordering in person . Wouldn’t recommend ordering online . Less food more money terrible quality . My food came missing a potion of my order and very over cooked!!! Then I received a nasty email stating “there’s no way it could have been missing” excuse me?!! Pooooooor customer service !

This used to be the spot... After ordering 2 different types of fish im starting to believe they are short changing customers... I've never seen fish sliced so thin combined the 3 pieces equals one filet..
The cost is increasing and portions are decreasing... The one thing that is relatively the same is the rice .. Depending on the day they may try and give you the scraps from the bottom of the pan and tell you it's a fresh pot of rice...
Really trying not to abandon my go to take out but after the 5th time having food delivered without condiments that I requested which appears on the receipt, I may have to. Do better and stop being cheap. Really? It’s black fish store. Add basic tartar sauce and hot sauce. Really?
I always loved this place for fried fish in Harlem, been visiting for over 10yrs..
Parking: Very clean, food cooked well, you'll enjoy..
Wheelchair accessibility: No wheelchair accessible, walk down of 7 steps, no tables, take out only..

This is a take-out/cash only spot!
I gave 5 star atmosphere bc, I didn't want to punish them!
Counter staff were fantastic in answering my questions and ASKING the right questions!
I got the fish and chips.
The fish (whiting) was cooked fresh and was very crispy without being dry.
the fries were hand cut (plus) but could have used some salt.
I will go back!!!

Food looks good on camera but that's about it. Fish and chips portion was too small for the price. French fries were plain jane. No flavor at all. Taste like wood. Without the shrimp this would have been 1 star. There is no "Devin" there and its not a seafood/soul food spot. This establishment is the same as those fish market places that sell hot food in the back.

Devin's Fish & Chips spot on St. Nicholas Ave has been serving the community for nearly 3 decades. I've know I've been a customer since the late 1990s. Devin's was very popular when they first opened because they had a steamer. Steamed snow crab⁰ legs and okra were my favorites with pink lemonade.
Also, the grilled salmon steaks with steamed okra & fresh cut fries with the skin on it.
Still a family bznz and a staple in Hamilton Heights,Harlem!
It's a small world indeed. I found out over 2 decades ago, we attended junior high school with the siblings back in the 1970s. I recognized one of the sisters and asked if she had a brother, Willie. She said, "Yes, I do. " We chatted for a while..
I'm happy that they chose to stay in bznz despite the changes & gentrification thisv neighborhood has endured over the decades.
Congratulations fam@🐠🎣🦞🍚🍛
