My husband's FAVORITE pizza place. If you're looking for fantastic European style pizza in Manhattan, this is it. I prefer American style, so it's not my favorite, but it's definitely second place for me. We hit it up EVERY time we're visiting New York.

I went in with high expectations because I been eating at the original since the 1990’s and to me out of all the pizza joints I have been to Dominick at Di Fara made the best regular slice on the planet with Luigi’s at a close second, the place was what you would expect for the seaport and I like it, it was very hard for me to communicate with the counter help and I got a reheated slice in a portable oven, I gave it a second chance and went back with 3 other people and ordered a fresh pie and it was just as bad, the dough was no good the cheese was cooked enough and the sauce was not the same sauce you get from the Original location in Brooklyn, If I ever want Di Fara again I’ll sit in the traffic on the belt pky and get a fresh slice from the original..PART 2 answering the reply, I’m know tourist my review was 100% on point, You shouldn’t of asked for my response to your reply, my first visit was the first month you were open and there was portable ovens, single pizza holders double stacked on wheels, that makes them portable, as for the service there was only one person out of the three people behind the counter the spoke and understood English, they didn’t understand Italian either, so trying to order when there are 3 people talking Spanish and not paying attention to the person trying to order in English makes it a little difficult. I’m still a long time customer to the Brooklyn location and that don’t won’t change.

I saw a post online that they were struggling because of all the construction happening in front of this new location. As a long time Di Fara fan (been going to their Brooklyn location for 20 years), I wanted to go support. I ordered two slices, over $10, and the guy reheated my slices for so long, they became burnt toast, completely dry, and couldn’t even bend anymore, hard as a brick. I can’t understand why places do this to their beautifully cooked pizza, it’s not even that they were slammed or anything, I was the only one in there. They just don’t care I guess. I’m sure Domenico (RIP) would not have approved…

"It's old, she won't notice." is what the cook said in Spanish as they were packing up my order. They do not care about their customers. They clearly lack brain cells to say it out loud in one of the most widely spoken languages. Exercise caution regarding the integrity and hygiene of the food when dealing with Di Fara Pizza.

People wonder if it's still good after Dom passed and the answer is yes. It's still the best and anyone who says otherwise is being contrarian. The best ingredients, the best recipe, and the best bake. There's nothing quite like it, though there are more rivals than ever these days. The last time I went, I don't think I got the best slices. Kind of a low traffic day and I think the slices had sat a little too long. Still better than 99% of pizza in the greatest pizza city in America.
