Dirty French, like many other restaurants in New York City, has taken on a “presumptive” attitude. Service that's slow and a bit pushy, food that's just so so, and prices that are way beyond the realm of normal, do not add to the wonderful location of this restaurant, nor guarantee a presumption that folks will ever return. We ordered a bottle of wine from the glass section because the bottles listed on the cart were so overpriced and outrageous. It was very difficult to find something that would be reasonable. Sadly, the sommelier brought a different vintage from what was ordered and tried to pass it through without notice. This dishonest action clearly is not acceptable and thus prompted this response. Perhaps the name of the restaurant would more appropriately be Sneaky French. Not good! There are so many other worthwhile French restaurants in NYC. Try them instead!
Terrible customer service and overall service experience. For some reason they have 10pm reservations available on OpenTable but their kitchen closes at 10pm, without any heads up. Then we noticed Google says they close at 10. Once we arrived (quarter to 10), they said we need to submit order immediately because kitchen closed. Manager who assisted was pandering us and almost sarcastic. They rushed us, took forever to bring us water, charged us $10 USD for sparkling without asking if we wanted sparkling on tap or a bottle, after two glasses of sparkling at that price we could have gotten a 12 pack at the Walgreens lol. I honestly would have expected way better from an MFG restaurant. Terrible! Which is unfortunate because the vibe was good, music was good (until they started turning it down and cleaning up around us to rush us to leave). Our server even abandoned our table and never told us he was leaving. Same goes for the manager. They need to do a better job at approaching service. Because this is unacceptable. We spent nearly $400 on a meal we were rushed to consume and barely got a minute to think about what we wanted.
intreresting menu, excellent service and hardly any background noise. a place you want to return to.
Love this restaurant! A beautiful atmosphere located inside the Ludlow Hotel. It feels like Paris. The food was incredible. I had the duck a l'orange and it was outstanding. The service was impeccable. Our server, Oliver took very good care of us! Can't wait to go back.
The Experience here is great. The food and the service is remarkable. Will definitely be back here.
Jorge and team went out of their way to accommodate my gluten allergy and family. The entire dining experience was perfect. Thank you for the great experience.
Dietary restrictions: The frites are GLUTEN-FREE, fried in a fryer without cross-contamination.

Had the Christmas menu for a Christmas date. The starters were nice, the tuna tartare was delicious. For the entrees we both had filet mignon. We ordered medium rare and the beef was very dry, tough and smothered in black peppercorns that was almost unpalatable. The cooking was very amateurish. Our meal costs $350 for 2 of us.
A waiter also wiped our table with a soaking wet cloth and placed our dessert spoons on the wet table which was really off-putting.
On a smaller note, we asked to have a photo taken with our camera and the same waiter told us we couldn't use our camera as it had flash which was laughable and very very odd. Another server, Pamela obliged us with helping with our photo. She was lovely.

Maimi is definitely much better, we came here expecting it to be as good as Maimi but it was not even close it felt more like a cheap restaurant then an upscale place, The appetizers were OK. The main courses were horrible. I would not recommend.

The food was great and I like that it's attached to a hotel. The service was great, just a little slow. I will go again.

Great food and service! But the seats are uncomfortable and they play a weird 80's and 90's pop music mix. Do we really need Rick Astley to go with splurging on truffles??? Uh...no!
The food was good but nothing special. The main issue was the long wait and poor communication. After we ordered, it took an hour for them to tell us that two of the items weren’t available, which could have been mentioned much earlier. In total, it took 2 hours and 15 minutes to get our food. To make matters worse, they didn’t offer anything complimentary to make up for the long wait. That said, the delay wasn’t the server’s fault, she was very nice and did her best.

Extremely overpriced for what you get. Go to the West village for brunch instead. This is probably the worst breakfast I've gotten in a very long time.

Food was delicious! They were a bit overrun with people when we went so service was a tiny bit backed up, but they did a solid job handling the situation.

Vegetarians are clearly not welcome for dinner. 9 entry options, nothing veggie friendly. The waiter makes you feel like you re an anomaly on earth.
