Truly an amazing experience! They got us seated as a party of 7 in a booth and despite being near a window stayed warm! We could hear each other without issue. Great cocktails, appetizers of the salad and garlic bread were phenomenal! We had the lasagna (can't do non-pork sadly and it's good for 3 people given the size of it), mussels pasta, steak, and fish dish and then 2 order of the Japanese potatoes! Everything was diving and the star of the show was the lasagna and Japanese sweet potatoes! We got the dessert of tiramisu, mochi and sorbet (got it complimentary for a birthday) so amazing! Our waitress was fantastic and gave great recs, cognizant of some of our party not eating pork, and great at checking in! Food is definitely family style and with everything it came out about $75pp including tax and tip so rlly good considering how much food we ate and just a fantastic experience! Highly recommend reservations as they release 7 days before at 9am and can be hard to get!

As always, Don Angie is the most incredible culinary experience — the food is outstanding, unique, and special. The service is unparalleled and the staff leads all their actions with kindness and attention to the guest experience. It is always such a special occasion to join them for a meal and I certainly hope to be back soon!

Delicious food and great service. Tables not too close to one another like typical nyc restaurants.

We had two birthdays that we were celebrating at our table. Thank you to the Don Angie team for making the experience special. We had some allergies at our table and our server was very thorough in double checking with the kitchen. Who knew there is some fish sauce in their signature lasagna? It really did bring out the umami flavor in the dish but thankfully, my friend knew to avoid that dish. The chrysanthemum salad is a must - the dressing was like a Caesar but the bitterness of the chrysanthemum leaf brought a nice combination to the palate. Veal - sometimes I find that mustard can overwhelm a dish but there was a really nice balance of tanginess with the veal and the speck. And finally, must order all of the desserts. They were all sooo different but all sooo good. Wait, you may want to avoid the black cocoa tiramisu if you're on a first date if you don't want dark chocolate cocoa powder all over your mouth or teeth. It was so delicious but the lovely cocoa powder does get everywhere.

Reservations are tough to get but worth it. Definitely get the Chrysanthemum Salad, Sweet Potatoes, and Sour Dough pasta!

Very overdue review. 😊 My partner and I dined at Don Angie in March 2025, and I’m finally writing this in December 2025.

The food was excellent and unique. It was fun to have something that felt like a creative take on Italian rather than strictly traditional, without feeling gimmicky. Service was polished but warm and relaxed, and the pacing of the meal felt just right.

The ambiance is lovely. It felt intimate and fun, and the windows on both sides made it enjoyable to look out onto the street and take in the energy of the neighborhood.

Deserving of five stars. Thank you, Don Angie!

Great place to go if you're bulking! Less great if you're on a diet. The garlic bread thing was to die for, and their pastas are all hits. A bit too much flash photography going on though...

I thought a lot of the food here was very inventive and delicious but the service here at the bar is really some of the worst I’ve seen in NYC. We were ready to order immediately and the man there took 10 minutes talking with the other waiter. We were served the two pastas and sides all at once which was annoying but fine. The candy pasta “buffalae” was the best dish by a lot. The chrysanthemum salad and sweet potato were good as well. The lasagna was overrated and honestly a little cold because of the way they brought it out. Our server immediately and weirdly abruptly tooled the last bite of buffalae when me and my partner had our head turned and it was really annoying. Lots of good bites and flavor there and he threw it away super abruptly. I’m very annoyed by this and honestly the service here was a major turn off for a high end restaurant with food at this caliber. They are well staffed and equipment is there but the staff members at the bar are not carrying their weight. For this reason more than the food I would rate this not as one of the top Italian restaurants in New York or Manhattan. This is the worst service I’ve ever had paying $100/person for the meal and worst service I’ve had in nyc in years. It was really disappointing. We have eaten at the bar at many of manhattans finest restaurants and it’s generally a similar experience to table side but that wasn’t the case here. The two people next to us also had a similar complaint. It was actually a bit difficult to talk to them and hear my partner because the bartenders were yapping with each other so loud but not even with actual people at the bar like you might typically see.

Food and service were fantastic. Best Italian food i have ever had, the flavors were amazing, as was the ambiance. Had the lasagna, calamari, sweet potatoes, garlic bread, mochi and tiramisu and all were flawless. I hope to come back!

Great experience all around—excellent service and amazing food! The lasagna and espresso martinis were both outstanding, and the chrysanthemum salad is an absolute must-try.

We LIVED! LIVED! LIVED! at Don Angie! The stuffed garlic flatbread was sinful. The chrysanthemum salad was an outstanding surprise of flavor and the rolled lasagna was the star of the show! HIGHLY RECOMMEND ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Worth the hype! I set up notifications on OpenTable and was able to snag a 5pm on a Thursday. Log into your OpenTable account (with a credit card already added) right at 9 AM EST and refresh and with fast fingers, you'll have some options. I think the reservations being on OpenTable have made it a lot smoother than when they were on Resy. Great service, perfect ambiance, and do not miss out on the chrysanthemum salad, stuffed flatbread, of course the lasagna, and would also go for the gnocchi again. All were amazing.
