Always a fantastic meal. And we were honored for the first time to be seated upstairs. Very nice experience.

Although the kitchen output was a bit inconsistent, the Margherita Pizza, Caesar Salad, Spaghetti Carbonara, and Chicken Scarpariello were all superb. Excellent recipes and deft execution lead to a lovely meal, marred only slightly by a forgettable Chicken Parm - a recipe clearly not in the same league as these other dishes. Service was simply lovely - friendly, attentive (without being overbearing) and efficient.

A very solid red sauce Italian shpat. The pastas are solid, the chicken parm gets the job done, the pizza is fantastic Neapolitan style goodness, and the tiramisu is a banger. If you’re looking for your quintessential Italian American, this is likely your best bet in the UES.

The food and drinks are really not worth the price. It was expensive and the servers were very impolite with us

Our waiter was passive-agressive throughout dinner.
''Wine bar'' but can't name the wine they are serving.
The pizza taste the same thing as the bread served with olive oil for appetizer.

We went to eat at Christmas and being Neapolitan I have to tell the truth I was expecting higher quality products and tastier dishes, it was a disappointment, there's nothing Italian about it! The pasta was overcooked! We went out hungry after paying a lot of the bill and going out hungry and disappointed on Christmas day is not the best!

Donna Margherita is a nice little Italian restaurant on the upper east side. They have a pretty decent menu with good vegetarian and meat dishes, a bar with wine and cocktails, and overall it's a pretty cozy / neighborhood vibe. It's a little pricey but not out of the ordinary for a New York City Italian restaurant, I think. The staff was very attentive and quick to change out plates, silverware, etc. during course changes. The tables are quite pushed together so you'll be sitting closely to others, and it can get a bit hot later at night.

Vegetarian options: Pretty decent vegetarian options (some pastas, some pizzas, and some salad or appetizers)

Medium food, medium service. Table was to much narrow and close to the door so everytime that someone went in/out, cold air arrived. Considering that it was christmas, i thought to find an ambient more decorated. Value is ok, but genuine italian cuisine is another thing.

Pasta is excellent, pizza is authentic Italian, arancini are simply amazing. Not only the food is great, but also the people at Donna Margherita are very nice and welcoming. Enzo and Salvatore truly care about their restaurant and their clients. A true gem in the upper east side!

The pizza is absolutely delicious but I found a piece of rigid plastic baked into the pizza. It was like a small piece of a plastic food container. Almost choked on it but, luckily was able to spit it out. They have to be more careful. They'd get 5 stars if it wasn't for this mistake.

The bruschetta was absolutely delicious. The meatball appetizer and my eggplant dish were so luke warm- very unappealing. They also changed the interior from what it used to be- much nicer before. Also, charging more for credit card use when this should be a business expense, not a customer expense.
