Came here for brunch during non-football season and the vibes were chill. Sometimes I just want to escape from the typical NY brunch spots. This place might be my go-to on the UES. French onion soup - quite good. 4/5 Brunch burger - felt like it needed some type of sauce or my fault for ordering it medium well. 3.5/5

This is what happened! when the owner kept asking Google to delete the genuine review in order to keep the business in a good shape and the bartenders do not have any work ethic not even reach a morality or do not care to stop serving an alcohol to the already drunk regular customer that you call him "Friend ".

Another classic upper east side haunt and a favorite with the locals. If you're in the area, it's a cant miss spot!

Favorite hangout while in grad school in late 60’s-early 70’s. Last visit in 70’s. Go St. John’s!Wheelchair accessibility: I just saw presumably current pics of wheelchair accessible Dorian’s Red Hand. I thought the pics were from another place. When did Michelin and red checkered table cloths replace the Fridays and Daily’s Dandelion, rough around the edges atmosphere, of my other frequent upper East Side haunts. The current Dorian’s looks like it could hold its own with The Sign of The Dove, then located, a few blocks south, 3rd & 65th maybe. Foggy memories of long past!

One of the bouncers at Dorians grabbed my arm and yanked it out of position because I entered the empty men’s bathroom to pee. This seemed politically charged, because when I said that we should be able to use any bathroom, he really lost his temper And called me names. I have bruise marks from where he grabbed my arm and yanked me out. I felt unsafe at this bar and I’m considering pressing charges.

Nice place, good quiet vibe at 8pm on a Tuesday when I went. Some of the worst fish and chips I've ever had—the first word that comes to mind is 'chewy'—but they had a NA beer (Sam Adams hazy IPA knockoff) and besides the food it was nice.

Great Pub. It has everything you would like a pub to offer - great service (bar men are super on it!) , waiters too, tasty food and good options & screens all over to watch any special sporting event from anywhere in the place. Great neighborhood spot!

Had fish and chips and nachos with chili, both were delicious. Served was attentive without being overbearing. Fun sports atmosphere.

So this is a tough review to write. I love the food at this place and would always try to get coworkers to come here for after work drinks. I finally get some people to come here and one of the other patrons decided to start a fight with one of my coworkers. We calmed my coworker down but the owner decided we needed to leave and not the person that started the altercation. I flat out asked him why we had to leave and he said "it was his decision". From the context of the situation I can only assume that this was racism on the owners part. I don't want to get into details but I am utterly heartbroken that a bar I have always supported would react in such a way. I am done with this place. Never recommending them again.

As an experienced connoisseur of New York’s vibrant dining scene, I recently had the pleasure of visiting Dorrian’s Red Hand on the Upper East Side, a venue that truly encapsulates the essence of a classic New York establishment.Nestled in the heart of the Upper East Side, Dorrian’s is more than just a restaurant and bar; it’s a piece of New York history. The ambiance strikes the perfect balance between upscale and welcoming, making it an ideal spot for both casual get-togethers and special occasions. The interior boasts a charming, nostalgic decor that pays homage to classic New York, complete with memorabilia that adds to its unique character. The menu at Dorrian’s is a delightful blend of traditional American comfort food and contemporary flavors. A standout dish for me was their signature burger, which was cooked to perfection, juicy and flavorful, and accompanied by crisp, golden fries. The fish and chips, another highlight, were a testament to the kitchen’s ability to execute classic dishes with finesse. The drink selection was equally impressive. The bar offers a wide range of beers, cocktails, and wines, catering to all tastes. The bartenders are not just skilled but also friendly and knowledgeable, enhancing the overall experience with their recommendations and mixology expertise.Service at Dorrian’s is top-notch. The staff was attentive, friendly, and genuinely seemed to care about the patrons’ experience. It’s this level of service that contributes greatly to Dorrian’s warm and inviting atmosphere.Another aspect worth mentioning is Dorrian’s role as a social hub in the Upper East Side. It’s a place where locals and visitors alike come together, creating a vibrant and inclusive atmosphere. Whether you’re looking to enjoy a quiet dinner or join in the lively bar scene, Dorrian’s accommodates all moods and occasions. In conclusion, Dorrian’s Red Hand is not just a restaurant and bar; it’s a true Upper East Side gem that offers an exceptional dining and social experience. Its combination of historical charm, delicious food, diverse drinks, and welcoming atmosphere makes it a must-visit destination in New York City. Highly recommended for anyone looking to experience the heart and soul of the Upper East Side.
