Waited an hour in line but the food was well worth the wait! They use the right amount of 5 spice season to make the chicken perfectly seasoned. Despite the long wait, you're not guaranteed a table. We were in the front. This place is not ideal for groups of 3 if you're trying to get into the back room. The hostess wouldn't even put us on the waitlist for the back room.

Joined the line at 5pm on a Sunday and was worried because it looked quite long. Waited outside for 30 minutes before being let in and was quoted a 3 hour wait to enter the back room but was able to get in after only 1! Drinks were pretty good but personally did not think they were life changing or exceptional like people put them out to be (but I will admit that I am not well versed in cocktails). Favorite was the key lime pie and loved the thai tea popsicle on the thai curry drink. However the chicken sandwich was amazing and I would return just for that. The bread was a little dry but the chicken was deliciously juicy so I may opt for the popcorn chicken next time instead. Servers were extremely kind and ambiance was perfect for catching up with friends. Did not feel like we were being rushed and we were able to enjoy our time in the back!

Overall, Double Chicken Please was a unique experience. It's one of the most popular bars in NYC, and we got there pretty early at 5:00 pm since we didn't have a reservation. By the time we got there, there was already a long line. Luckily it was pouring rain that day so a lot of people left, we were able to put our name on the waiting list and leave the line to explore around until we got a text that our table was ready 5 hours later. The bar is like a chicken coop, with decorations and seating layouts that make you feel like you are in one. The drinks are based off food items and taste just like it! We got the cold pizza, Japanese noodle, key lime pie, and beet salad after doing some Yelp digging. I especially loved the key lime pie because of my sweet tooth. The food was good, we already ate dinner by the time we got off the waitlist so I couldn't really enjoy the food in its entirety. Loved the popcorn chicken with hot honey sauce and the mochi donut! Also the ice cream burger macaroon was amazing!!! If you're visiting NYC or can get a reservation here/get here early it's well worth it to put it on your list.

There's a novelty of having cocktails that are themed around food dishes such as pizza (hints of tomato and cheese). Had a great time sitting at the bar, and would recommend people try it at least once.

I personally prefer their food to the drinks! Best chicken sandwich I had so far in manhattan. The deco is chic in an alternative way. Will come back if it does take a 50 mins wait

Forget the cocktails, I don't think there was anything to make it special. But I ate the best chicken sandwich I've ever had in my life here. Come just to eat the hot honey chicken sandwich, it was extremely good

Got in line around 4, got in as part of the first walk in group. Drinks were fantastic, my favorite was the mango sticky rice. Go with a group if you can so you can order all the drinks! The popcorn chicken was also delicious 10/10, but you can skip the sauces.

Just be smiley with the staff. They are nice if you’re pleasant. The front room was great. I was served sandwiches and cocktails pretty promptly. About a 40 minute wait outside, I got inside before my friend, and they let me sit at the bar and fetch him upon arrival.

Really interesting cocktails! The cold noodle drink tastes almost like soup broth. Donut chicken sandwich was good but extremely difficult to eat. Would go for the non donut sandwich next time.

Reservations - super hard to get! So we chose to do the walk-in option like most. On a Saturday we came at 4:12pm (restaurant opens at 5pm), and there were already ~25 people in line in front of us. But at 5pm we got in super quickly and were able to get seated at the back room bar. Ambiance: Amazing. We loved sitting at the bar, great view to see how the cocktails were made. Service was quick, polite, and i liked that they described the drinks and how to drink them when we got them! The cocktails: Amazing, tasted like the food. We got the cold pizza, custard bun, key lime pie, and Thai curry. All were hits, and my favorite was the key lime pie (even though I don't normally like the pie itself) you can definitely taste the graham cracker crust in the cocktail!

This place is legit and deserves the ranking it has. I’ve been to maybe 15 out of the top 100 bars on the top 100 bar list. Something I like to do whenever I’m in a new city.I have been to two of the seven for New York the night before and was a bit underwhelmed. This bar is truly deserving of a global rankling. The staff are very kind, the food is very good, and the drinks are insanely creative. Not an underrated spot and wait is worth it. The co-owner of the bar was working hard with her staff the entire night making drinks. Never knew she was one of the co-owners and very low-key. Doesn’t have an attitude of superiority with her employees.

I came to Double Chicken Please on a Tuesday evening. We put our name down around 5:30 PM and then left to a nearby bar. We got off the list around 7:20 pm and headed over. We were seated in the back, called the Coop. Their menu featured a variety of different drinks with food themes. We ordered the Japanese cold noodle and key lime pie drinks. We also ordered some chicken sandwiches. I got the hot honey chicken sandwich. Everything was so good. The Japanese cold noodle smelled and tasted like the real thing but better. You could taste the whipped cream and crust within the key lime pie drink. The chicken sandwiches were also massive but so so good - definitely the best chicken sandwich I've ever had. The service was also great. Definitely recommend this spot!

Overall meh. Cool ambiance but my excitement ended there. The #8 tasted like I was deep throating an incense stick

Double Chicken Please ranks as the World's #2 bar and North America's #1 bar. Your best chance of securing a spot in the Coop is to line up well before their 5 PM opening. However, if you arrive after they've opened, be prepared to be given a reservation time roughly 3-4+ hours later--a wait that can honestly be spent enjoying the Lower East Side. We arrived just after 6 PM on a Thursday and were given a reservation time of 9:30 PM. We opted to start our wait in the Front Room for drinks. While the "on-tap" drinks were good and creative, the real showstoppers are in The Coop. Fast forward several hours (with some bar-hopping), and we received our "please report to the front door" text. And wow. Queuing on the door's left side, you feel like a celebrity. We were promptly escorted to The Coop and seated at the bar--a spot I highly recommend requesting. But as long as you've made it to the back, count it as a W. The MUST-HAVE DRINK is the Key Lime Pie. Few things in life give you an immediate "wow" factor when you take a sip or a bite of something, and this was one of them. We also tried the Red Eye Gravy, Cold Pizza, French Toast, and Japanese Cold Noodle--all remarkable concoctions that can be graded differently depending on your preference. As for the food, these chicken sandwiches are seriously next-level. The Hot Honey Chicken Sandwich with Thai basil was delicious. The popcorn Chicken here is done just right - crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and full of flavor. The Le Big mac was meh. However, the Koji Cucumbers were absolutely outstanding. They were so good that we kept ordering more. Their fresh, tangy flavor is a refreshing contrast to the richer fare and pairs beautifully with the bar's unique drinks. However, to provide a fully transparent assessment, it's fair to mention that there's a slight "hype" element at play. Many of the drinks were solidly good, earning a B+ in my book, with some rating lower in the Front Room. Also, while the waitstaff and reservation coordinators were very pleasant, making the experience enjoyable, the bartenders appeared a bit guarded. Nevertheless, Double Chicken Please is 100% a must-try spot. Just commit.
