Ate here on a weekend for lunch. The normal soup dumplings are actually perfect: piping hot, fatty, flavorful. We also tried the XL soup dumpling for fun... the idea of it is definitely cooler than actually eating it. Sipping fat with a straw is a 1/5 textural experience, unsurprisingly!! But still 5/5 for their regular soup dumplings. I'd definitely come back for those.

First time visiting. I enjoyed my vegetable dumplings. My son ordered the pork and bak choy dumplings. He have them a 7. It's a small quaint spot with good music and friendly staff. I would visit again and do recommend this spot to others. Look forward to trying other menu items next time.

Came with a Pulsd NYC voucher as did a lot of others that night. Food was exceptional. Pretty crowded for the small space, but service was very good as well.

Awesome food and the whole BYOB concept definitely benefited the experience that much more

My friend bought this great deal on Pulsd and invited me here! That's a great decision! Very cute dumping place with a great deal! The food was very good! My favorite are the pork soup dumplings and chicken with mushroom dumplings! They also served unlimited green tea in the cutesiest tea pot! I wish I took a photo of it so you can see it. The staff/auntie was sooo friendly. My friend and I were there for hours and she just kept pouring us hot tea and asked us to take our time. highly recommend it! We will be back!

Best XLB I've had in the city!! Large quantity of soup and great flavor. Staff is very friendly and food is made with love. So happy they're back open!

I really want to like this place and will come back: The dumplings were served together and cold. What is the point of a soup dumpling if it is served cold? The shrimp dumplings had actual small shrimp in them, but were flavorless and fell out upon trying to eat them, as there is no binder. Generally I'm someone who loves ALL dumplings, but this place made me sad. Edit: I do think these are handmade-with-love dumplings-- it's just these tiny details ruin what would otherwise have been fine, for instance, the sitting around and being served cold part. The roll of paper towels sitting on the plastic wrap it came out of. The probably frozen unseasoned bland shrimp in the carefully wrapped/sear-fried homemade dumpling skin. The allows-dogs-despite it being illegal indoors part. Unless they have an outside cafe I do not know about. It was freezing in here despite sitting under the heater. Everything felt neglected. I imagine this is fine for takeout. Paper towel rolls for napkins. Fine, but at $16 per 6 cold dumplings? This is just very depressing. No liquor license. $1/beer; $5/bottle. You have to ask for everything twice and probably may not get it. I'm just really disappointed, as I've been meaning to try these for ages now. I think I'm giving a very generous star situation because I'd really like them to succeed. Again I'm just very very disappointed in all this.

The best soup dumplings in nyc! The soup and flavors are so fresh and the portions are so filling because there’s more soup than you’d get in Chinatown and their dumplings are huge! Friendly staff and great and fast service. I’d highly recommend if you’re around St. Marks/East Village to check it out!

I'm not sure what this restaurant is trying to accomplish - a modern twist to a Shanghai classic or did they just ride the XLB train and stuck to it? The menu is very small and pricy. There were classic soup dumplings but everything else was a bit off, like 7-8 other items in total. We got the classic XLB and the pork buns. The classic XLB was decent, but the soup was a bit sweet. The only thing I would get again if I had to come back which I probably won't. The pork buns were basically glorified slighter bigger XLB with what seemed to be a caramelized sugar crust? The sweetness was off-putting to me. The skin was similar to the XLB, not a regular more thick bread a bun normally is. The service was awkward - a table came in after we had sat and ordered, and they ordered a XLB which came before our food came. When I asked if the waitress had put in our order, the back of house and the waitress blamed each other. I don't care what the situation is but after looking at the prices and atmosphere I would be happy to leave if they hadn't already put the order in. They had plastic cups which were a bit weird but I realized other tables had bought wine / drinks so I assume this is BYOB. They also had the industrial roll of paper towels on the table as napkins - not super pleasant to use on your face/nose. On the flip side, having people at other tables watch you while you eat is always a bit unsettling. All in all I won't be back.
