Order an Edward BLT and a Margarita, bacon was hard and bread was gummy, fries were ok, Margarita was nasty, it didn’t taste like margarita, tasted like rotten limon. They took forever to give me the margarita as well they gave me 1st the food. No go for me and won’t be back. Too expensive for what it is.

My recent lunch at Edwards in Tribeca was an unequivocally negative experience, one that I feel compelled to share to warn others. As an African American New Yorker, I was profoundly disturbed by the blatant disregard and prejudiced treatment I received from the wait staff, particularly from our waiter, Oscar. The entire interaction left me feeling unwelcome and disrespected, a sentiment that no diner should ever encounter, especially in a city as diverse as New York.

From the moment we were seated, the atmosphere felt unwelcoming. Our waiter, Oscar, whose ethnicity appeared to be Latino, displayed an astonishing level of dismissiveness. He consistently refused to make eye contact or acknowledge anything I said, treating me as if I were invisible or insignificant.

This behavior was not merely inattentive; it felt deliberate and targeted. When I repeatedly inquired about the lunch specials, Oscar finally snapped at me, acknowledging that he had heard me the first two times, a response that was both rude and unprofessional. The same pattern repeated itself at the conclusion of the meal when I requested the receipt; Oscar rolled his eyes and was extremely dismissive. This level of disrespect is simply unacceptable and suggests a deeper issue within the establishment's service culture. Such discriminatory practices are not only morally reprehensible but also legally problematic, as they violate anti-discrimination laws designed to protect individuals from such treatment in public accommodations.

Beyond the appalling service, the pricing at Edwards is egregiously high, especially for the Tribeca area. Appetizers are priced identically to sandwiches and entrees, which is an absurd pricing strategy that offers no value to the customer. For instance, a simple appetizer costing the same as a main course is a clear indication of inflated prices that do not align with the quality or portion sizes offered. This pricing structure, coupled with the abysmal service, makes Edwards an establishment I would strongly advise against. While I work in the vicinity, I will unequivocally not be returning to Edwards, and I urge others to consider alternative dining options in Tribeca that offer both quality food and, more importantly, respectful and equitable service.

Today smoked salmon was lousy . Bagel tasted like cardboard. My friend said her eggs were mediocre. The lox and bagel were not worth $25. To make it worse the waiter was extremely Rude!

Excellent food, drinks, and service. I found this place because I was looking for somewhere with outdoor seating.

We had a lot of time before going to a show at BMCC so we wanted to linger - we had a 5:30 reservation but showed up at 5. The waiter indulged us instead of trying to rush us through to turn over the table.

Solid friendly neighborhood spot. The decor is quaint, and the portions are decent. The penne with chicken, broccoli, and tomatoes is very cheesy and rich. The chocolate mud cake is decadent.

Food poisoning and terrible service.

First off, the entire front of house staff was miserable and rude.

My Crispy Salmon patty/burger was not as tasty as I’d hoped it would be. There was something off about it. I should have known better after the first bite. I hadn’t eaten anything since early that morning so it has to have been the food here. The following couple of days were awful.

What happened to this place. It used to cater to artists and have even its own little artist menu. Now it seems just to cater to tourism, the rudest staff, and yes, food poisoning.

The burger is a gem. Perfectly cooked Pat LaFrieda patty, with pickles, tomato, lettuce and onion. It’s old school and perfect. Amazing fries. Edwards is one of the last and best places to eat in Tribeca where you don’t feel like you just threw last week’s paycheck out the window.

Great local spot - been for breakfast and lunch. Families and neighbors, never too crowded. The fries are nice and crispy, good beer selection, and yummy breakfast too.
