The "Chicago deep dish pizza" was far from deep and didn't resemble the true Chicago-style pizza at all. It was also very bland and doughy. The establishment was quite small, and the service was decent—neither particularly good nor bad. I wouldn't return.

I am from the city of Chicago. I am a cook and historian. The Chicago offerings at Emmet’s are not only proper but divine. The space is small as is common in NYC. Service and atmosphere were excellent, very cozy and warm. Chicago dog, Italian Beeg sandwich and the Deep dish were fantastic. The deep dish was Chicago style, toppings are NYC style but that’s quite alright. If you want Chicago food for any reason be it that you can’t make it there on your travels, or if you are from there and want a piece of home, come here. There is no Portillo’s in NYC but a gazillion in Florida. Let them stay there, NYC has Emmet’s.

First time tasting a deep dish wow it was amazing the pizza was very satisfying and very decadent full of cheese as it should be the fried mozzarella was also a dream amazing atmosphere even the beer was a pleasant surprise

A very atmospheric place with vintage elements. Friendly staff! The music is pleasant. We stopped in specifically to try the Chicago style pizza. The dough, sauce and cheese are very tasty 👍, but the vegetables would have been a little more baked, because the onions and peppers were cheesy, to my taste. But it was still very tasty. I think we will come back here again.
It is a pity that there were no non-alcoholic cocktails. I can't drink alcohol for medical reasons, but that doesn't mean I don't want to have an interesting drink. I'm sick of drinking soda (

Friend was visiting from Chicago and wanted deep dish pizza (lol). Settled on here and was pleasantly surprised; pricing is about the same as any other deep dish place (~$30) but we really enjoyed it.
(For reference - I love tomato sauce.)
Vegetarian options: Not a whole lot of options, but the This Buds for You deep dish was both delicious and vegetarian.

We have now been 3 times and each time we were disappointed. This last time was particularly bad. The staff is very nice and the atmosphere is great, but the pizza was almost inedible. We got the deep dish this most recent time. It had a lot of moisture and was almost all cheese. The dough tasted the same as store bought freezer pizza. It was just not enjoyable to eat.
