Great food in an atmosphere that’s refined, yet comfortable. Great staff and outstanding food. We are there twice during our NYC visit and were very pleased with everything. My fruit salad on Sunday morning was divine. Love the quiet street scene outside and the pretty children’s park nearby.

Worth a visit. We had a lovingly prepared pastrami sandwich with fries for a fair $26. The service was attentive and consistently friendly.

I was surprised during prime brunch time on Saturday that this place did not have a crazy long wait.I ordered the waffles they were ridiculously fluffy and delicious and had some of my friends scone which was equally delicious. I highly recommend this place. The service is spectacular as is the food.My only wish is that they and all a lot of other brunch places would start serving vegetarian sausage

Cute spot with good cocktails and ambiance. A fancy diner. The potato roasti with caviar was delicious. The bar seats are super uncomfortable (too small and there is no foot rest)

HOT TIP: ask to sit upstairs in the cozy 2nd floor. Genius concept - diner food but make it fancier and more delicious but not a crazy price. Cacio e Pepe eggs were fluffy and cheesy. Soup and sandwich was a tomato soup with grilled cheese deluxe. MUST ORDER the espresso martini. We got the tequila one with hints of cinnamon and it tasted like a cozy winter morning. Honestly I could have given them 4 stars because of the in-over-his-head host who couldn’t handle the wait list while many tables were empty all over. Not clear if it was incompetence or inexperience or overconfidence.Dietary restrictions: Plenty of gluten free options

Empire dinner is one of our neighborhood favorites. It is consistent and reliable and you don’t have to worry about long wait times or making reservations weeks out. They have been stepping up their bar and cocktail program recently. Our bartender, Daisy, was everything you want in a great bartender. She is affable, accommodating and makes each guest feel special. We love sitting at the bar so we can chat with her.

favorite meal in NYC. Such a fun vibe. The kale Caesar salad is to die for and the tuna tartare is BOMB. The host was so kind and friendly and honestly just a great experience overall.
