The oysters, the fries, the cocktails ✨! Looking forward to visiting them again at a new location.

Essex PearlI have been to this place twice and they did not disappoint me in any way. Happy hour is the best time to go after work because of the $1 oysters. If you are a beer fan, try the Radeberger. The Manila Monkfish Skewers and Grilled Cambodian Pork Belly, they are a good pair with the beer.Make reservations on line to secure a seat just to be sure. Also, an fyi…this place is not cheap so budget around $60 for a good meal and libation.

More people should know about Pearl. Eaten here three times now, food is consistently well above the already high NYC average. Dishes manage to amazingly be both innovative and also respectful to the traditions of the countries they’re inspired by -congrats chef. Cocktails also excellent, thank you bartender. And our waiter was charming, insightful, and accommodating. Bravo ???Vegetarian options: Kong xing cai like dish was goodDietary restrictions: Was able to accommodate no pork, lactose free and low-carb member of our party, as well as a vegetarian

The himachi and the Vietnamese lobster roll were excellent, but the pork belly skewers extremely salty, and rest kind of just good, nothing special. The dragonberry mocktail was excellent. Service was outstanding.

The food here is genuinely delicious. Beyond the raw bar (a great deal), the tiger prawns and fried chicken were a total knockout. The waitstaff are really attentive and friendly. 4 stars for atmosphere because the basement level of Essex Market really needs to fill out a bit, but otherwise highly recommend!

Fantastic place! Arrived 25 minutes late to our reservation (transit issues) and were still able to be seated upon arrival, which was great. Took us a second to find it in Essex Market but we managed! The ceviche with shrimp chips was the best thing we tried, but everything we ordered was delicious! They even have a tank with lobsters there where you can pick which one to cook! They also have a larger (4lb?) lobster plate on the menu that we did not order, but the lobster in the tank was huge! The tables are kind of small so best to order in stages to avoid running out of room. Overall, would definitely recommend for a quick semi-casual seafood meal if you’re in the area!

Amazing food. The flavors are out of this world. The service is great. Love this spot! Wish they had longer hours, but just a great spot to introduce to your friends.

Came to Essex for oysters, oysters was so good , only one moment we don’t like that there is no oyster sauce, no horseradish, lemon only if requested, clam chowder soup is too spicy , if you like me don’t like spicy you have to say )))

Go for the dollar oysters. Stay for everything else. Low key vibe on the lower level of Essex Market is perfect to make the evening’s focus on food and conversation. Our server Hakeem was fantastic. Garlic noodles, skewers, tartare all left us wanting more. Will be back soon.

My girlfriend and I came here to try their oysters and got a lot of attitude from their server and bartender. Immediately upon approaching the server to order, was greeted with a sigh and exasperated tone. The moment got seated at the bar, the bartender stopped what he was doing and glared at us. He put his shaker down and talked to us in an irritated tone. We tried to order but he mumbled something and walked away. Racist staff, would not recommend to anyone especially when there are plenty of other establishments in the area

I came here for happy hour with my friend, and the only good thing about happy hour was the oysters which were half off for a dozen. We were expecting to pay a little less given this was happy hour, but the good items are not on the happy hour menu! LolWe ordered chicken wings, beef skewers, and the lobster rolls! The chicken wings and beef skewers tasted the same lol: same seasoning: just one note. The lobster rolls were really good! The seasoning on the fries were tasty and so was our frose drink which had notes of passion fruit! Delicious. The oysters were fresh but we are used to the traditional oyster dressings and so their versions of the traditional dressings didn’t hit for us as it would usually, but we tried!

We came here as a little finisher from dinner for the happy hour and it didn’t disappoint. The happy hour oysters here are a lot better than other places I’ve had them, it has the salty water still in them and the meat is nice and there’s no sand at all. The rest of the happy hour items were only $1 cheaper than the main menu so not much difference in prices, but we ordered the lumpia and it was good. I didn't like the banana ketchup though, I've never had it before but it's very much like jam and the taste is something I'm not sure to describe. But definitely come here for the oystera
