Cool atmosphere, kind of tight/crowded but doable. The burger is sublime. Truly delicious, a nice crunchy bit as a patty topper and the patty was cooked perfectly! The parmesan squash pasta was...magic. Truly a treat spot. Wander around the inviting surrounding area if you're waiting to be seated...you'll be glad you waited and got your spot!
Fairfax is a cozy West Village spot, and their burgers really are their strong point. We went for brunch and enjoyed both the egg sandwich and the burger. It was pretty busy, and we had a bit of trouble getting cutlery and condiments, so our food cooled down by the time we could start eating. Overall, a nice place — just hoping for smoother service next time.
Limited menu that changes, so check the daily menu. The trout was very good, well-prepared with general butter and garlic. The Delicata Squash with cream and a touch of maple was absolutely divine. I ordered the Bar Sardine burger extra well-done. It came out pink but it was tough as a hockey puck so I figured if I sent it back it would only get tougher.
