Really nice spot to have a tea and chill. Had the Radiance which was smooth and great for the evening. They have a wide range of teas, the floor seating and proper preparations. The place is white pricey I must say. And the ambiance could be better. The first thing I smelled was stinky shoes when I walked in.Still, overall really nice experience must wish they would bring prices down or advertise better why prices are so high and decorate a bit more.

The shop was quiet and serene when we came in. Within 15 minutes, though, three other groups arrived and began talking LOUDLY. There was no attempt made to restore the atmosphere, and we had to just sit and endure the cacophony (about tech jobs, college classes, gossip – the usual nyc fare among our zillennial age group) for the rest of our time there. The tea shop is not designed for loud conversations, so the sound reverberated and became even louder. The two of us paid $50+ for the tea (good tea, but still just tea), and the atmosphere of any basic Manhattan coffee shop. We had been looking forward to the relaxed vibes FMTH used to have (I came once before pre-COVID, and it was lovely and quiet), but it seems to have been ruined by its clientele. At these prices you’re paying for the experience, and we unfortunately left feeling like we had not gotten what we paid for.Edit to respond to the shop’s response:We went on a weekday early afternoon, which is supposedly a quiet time. If our experience was “quiet”, I’m horrified to think of what a busy day sounds like.

Great experience and great service. Very zen place to relax for a while, enjoy some tea, read a book. Pot for two seems pricey but gets refilled many times and is well worth

Atmosphere is dope. Honestly it's such a cool place and incredibly cozy. It's definitely small and if there are other customers who are loud at all you'll hear their entire convo. The tea selection is amazing. So much variety and good descriptions on each one. Not the best place if you can't be comfortable sitting on the floor. There are 3 bar seats available with normal chairs though. Definitely make a reservation.Ultimately this is a 3 star review because of price/value and service. The tea is great but this isn't a "bang for your buck" kind of place. We got one of the cheapest teas for 2 and it was $41. We got 2 refills in the first 30 minutes...not great. When asked how many refills we get we were told "unlimited" and "don't hesitant to ask", which was all true but when I did ask for a refill the first time I was made to feel like I was bothering the server. We stayed for 1.5 hours and got 6 total refills and in the last 30 min got 3 refills. Just wish we could have gotten more sooner, I probably would have bought more tea if so.

A serene space where you can take your time, slow down, be calm, talk softly and drink high-quality tea served in a proper and precise manner. On offer are over 50 teas and you can’t really go wrong, whatever your choice. The owner/server is courteous and attentive, returning to provide water refills just when you need them. The light is soft, the music is relaxing, and another highlight of the scene is a very large, soft and extremely calm dog, who keeps to herself but welcomes being petted. For a dog person like me, just having that sweet dog napping there added to the peaceful easygoing vibe of the place. For some, this will be a new experience so just relax, take it in, go with the flow and let it be whatever it is for you. If you arrive with an open mind, it will be rewarding.

Its a cute place with great tea selection and a cool server who knows her craft and stayed super on top of her game throughout ( making sure the tea stay perfect all time ) but this is a bit overpriced and it would be more zen if its quieter.

The selection of tea is amazing and loved the ambience of the place. An extra bonus is the tea house has great taste in music!

Unfortunately, my experience was marred by the owner's rude and harsh attitude towards clients. This doesn't match the high standards set by the calm and beautiful design. As a new customer, I was hoping for a warm welcome and some guidance on the tea selection, but the owner didn't even bother to ask about my preferences. To make matters worse, when I asked if I could make further steeping of the tea by myself to try, she responded with an angry and aggressive manner, insisting that it is 'her teaware' and she is the only person who is allowed to touch it. It's a shame that such a promising place falls short due to poor customer service and overpriced steeps, as there is only about a 200 ml of water for a group of multiple people for 60-100 dollars.

Not the most pleasant experience i have had tonight in this place. Tea quality was good overall, however the service wasnt so friendly. If you are not new to tea ceremonies i would not suggest going there and id suggest saving your money, however if you are curious to try something new than you should give it a shot.

Relaxing little spot, a breath of fresh air in the middle of the city. Great to come hang out for a little bit (or a while). Get a reservation if you want to sit by the windows!

It’s often hard to find a proper tea house in the US, it’s very weird to find the best. Real quality Gong Fu Cha experience, with a very immaculate vibe. Thanks for all the tea!
