I visited Floral Restaurant near NYU with friends and ended up really enjoying the food and experience. Their grilled fish was flavorful, stayed warm throughout the entire meal, and came loaded with tofu, bean sprouts, potatoes, and other toppings. We also tried the popular Magic Beef Granules, which arrived inside a flaming “magic book” and made for a fun and memorable presentation while still tasting great. Beautiful presentation of food, flavorful and delicious. The lychee Shrimp balls is a must try dish. Cozy vibe with friendly service. I definitely will come back to try more dishes. Recommend.
Kinda surprised by all of the 5 star reviews. The food is pretty good but we've certainly had better ma po tofu here in the East Village--it's fine--and spicy, as in HOT!
Small space. Friendly, helpful staff. Worth a try if you are flexible on diet... Maybe not the absolute best for vegans, but I'm sure there are some good things on the menu.
